One of the best straight edge albums,
By a7x1337 (CO) - See all my reviews

Everything that was good about Casey Jones' first album is back and improved this time around. The Messenger packs the same punch, the same intensity, great lyrics and builds on it with occasional melody. For a natural metalhead like myself, and one who is disappointed by the lack of good straight edge metal acts, this is a beautiful balance of hardcore and thrash. This album's 4 years old, and I hope they get back in the studio soon!

Proves that Evergreen Terrace isn't holding all the talent,

Casey Jones is the Side project of Josh from Evergreen Terrace. Only slightly similiar to Evergreen in the music department and the fact that their lyrics are all about being straight edge, i enjoyed this album, although i am far from being straight edge myself. While i may not agree with the idealogy of straight edge, that doesnt mean i cant enjoy the bands and music. Many of them, like Casey Jones, are just as fast and brutal as the non-straight edge bands out there today. All in all, i was very satisfied with this album.

i saw these guys about a month and a half ago open up for evergreen terrace and the calico system.... f*cking blew my mind away... i ended up buying the album a week later and it hasn't left my cd player.... josh james vocals are loud, obnoxious, and powerful.... the guitar work is fantastic.... the only thing about this album that i don't care for is the songwriting..... very unoriginal... but hey, not bad for a bunch of kids
