Most importantly, it fits my good knives and two steels perfectly.

There are 2 large slots which fits my Asian style knife but they are simply too large for a Santoku or Chef's.

His knives are now very neatly organized.....no more fishing around in the kitchen drawer.

May not be suitable for everyone as the knife slots may not fit wide chefs knives or santoku knives very well. I had trouble fitting my MAC Chef's knife and santoku knife in the block and had to modify it...

I don't think there is such thing as a perfect knife block when you have a wide variety of knives but this one is pretty darn close. A few of the slots don't work for my tools but overall I really like it.

Like another review had stated, this knife block does not fit wide knifes well and by wide knifes I mean both Santoku and a standard Chef's knife.

There are 2 large slots which fits my Asian style knife but they are simply too large for a Santoku or Chef's.
While 3 medium slots which does not fit Santoku or Chef's.

Besides that, the slots at one of the edge of the block have collapsed somehow. It might be damaged in transit or a manufacturing flaw or just both.

In conclusion, I do not recommend this knife block.

p.s. The metal logo at the front in the picture have been replace by a logo stamped into the wood.

Its a good block - good quality, no qualms. Layout of slots could be a bit more strategic, but otherwise, I think its great.

This item allows me to store all of my knives, even a chopper and butcher knife. Excellent product. I highly recommend this if you have loose knives in the way in your kitchen.

The quality is fine. The weight is solid - it never moves along the counter. Most importantly, it fits my good knives and two steels perfectly. And one of those is a big Chinese chopper. I love this block.

The quality of manufacture is good as are the materials and finish. However, as the manufacturer provides little in the way of knife slot dimension it is difficult to assess what knifes will fit. In the product photo, it looks like the top slot might hold a meat cleaver, it will not. It will hold a large French chef's knife, the slot just below it in row #2 looks to hold a French Chef's knife, only if it is medium or small in size. The third slot will hold a meat, or vegetable cleaver (aka Chinese cleaver), the fourth row slot is not much good for anything but possibly a microplane grater, slightly lower in the fifth row the slot will hold cooking shears. The two slots in row six will accommodate a small chef's knife, santoku-style knife or shorter carving knifes. The bottom row and the six small vertical slots will only accommodate pairing, filet or steak knifes. Given the positive reviews I was surprised how few of my knifes I could fit in the Messermeister, my large Kabosh knife block holds more and provides greater utility. In short if most of your knifes are narrow blades this block will be fine, if you have larger or deeper knifes you should look at other options.
