5.0 out of 5 stars depressed by the mess?
This is a great little uplifting, inspiring read for the chronically disorganized & messy (particularly women with ADD). This is NOT a how-to book that will send you out to the Organized Living store to buy shelves & closet cubes & spice organizers & the like. It IS a book about messiness and depression, disorganization and self-esteem. Felton, founder...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too basic for me
I've read so many books on housekeeping that this book really didn't offer anything I hadn't seen elsewhere. Also, after perusing this book I realized that I'm not the messie I used to be.

If you are a major messie and haven't read many books about it then you may like this. Personally, I've received more motivation studying feng shui. Now that I know *why* I...

Felton, founder of Messies Anonymous, offers many practical tips to help you learn how to tackle clutter & mess systematically. She also discusses the self-esteem issues that often lead to messiness. Felton describes a "messie personality" -- it sounds alot like ADD to me.

If you're just looking for a few low-level organizational tips, I'd recommend that you skip this book. If you're chronically messy and you're not sure why & even worse, you're not sure how to deal with it, this may be just what you need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Messies, Marginal Messies & Perfectionists, September 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Messie Motivator: New Strategies to Restoring Order in Your Life and Home (Messies Series) (Paperback)
I didn't think I was a Messie ... I thought I was a perfectionist who was pretty well organized but just worked too slow. After reading this book I realized how wrong I was! And I guess I'll have to admit it ... I AM a Messie. I am MORE than poorly organized! And I AM a perfectionist who can't seem to get it all together!

Sandra Felton offers some excellent, easy to follow and implement changes to the way we look at housework. Some of her principles could be used for any type of work, or for students. None of it is rocket-science, but I bet it will work for almost anyone.

In the eight weeks since I received this book from Amazon my home has gone from marginal disarray and clutter everywhere, to true organization AND cleanliness! And you wouldn't believe how much more time I have!

Overall, a fast read with good suggestions that can quickly get you organized.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, must read for any messie!, August 4, 1998

This review is from: The Messie Motivator: New Strategies to Restoring Order in Your Life and Home (Messies Series) (Paperback)
Sandra Felton has an excellent grasp on the life of a Messie. I was looking for a book to show me how to be more organized, I got a book on how to change your life for the better, and reasons to "unmess" yourself, not just organize your clutter. I would like to give it to all my messie freinds!

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless on organisation - self-esteem psycho-babble, September 29, 1998
This review is from: The Messie Motivator: New Strategies to Restoring Order in Your Life and Home (Messies Series) (Paperback)
If you are looking for straightforward tips on how to get organised, this is NOT the book for you. Self-indulgent, unresearched - Sandra Felton babbles on about women like her with no idea or interest in the reality of ther people's lives. Aboslute drivel.
