4.0 out of 5 stars If you are looking for a MEAL replacement-EXCELLENT!
These bars are very tasty. I tried them just for the variety. My favorite is the SUPER COOKIE CRUNCH.

3.0 out of 5 stars One of the best protein bars on the market
This is one of the best protein bars on the market. For 420 calories, you get 32 grams of protein and a bar that doesn't have any chemical taste whatsoever. Also, if you are a vegetarian, it is a good choice because it doesn't contain gelatin which as you probably know is made from dead cows, and is in A LOT of other protein bars because it is a cheap source of protein...

I used these bars when taking airline trips and you are stuck in an airport or airplane without any healthy alternatives around. They are satisfying. The calorie content is high-but you get a lot of protein 30-32 grams depending on the flavor, plus its like a multiple vitamin. My only complaint and it is a big one-410 mgs of sodium. I wish they made a low-sodium version...I am sure I am not the only one that wants low-sodium.

5.0 out of 5 stars A HUGE bar, and so yummy too!, September 10, 2007
This is one of the best-tasting protein bars I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot!). It's made with real fruit, and you can tell; the yummy apple flavor and gooey topping make it seem more like a dessert than a nutrition bar. However, keep in mind that this is NOT intended as a snack bar--the large size and full 410 calories (not to mention 32g protein) make it a great meal replacement bar, especially on the go. So long as you pay attention to the calories, these bars can be a great supplement to any diet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best protein bars I've ever tried, November 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The super cookie crunch bars are awesome. I've cycled through several types and flavors of protein bars, moving to a new one each time I get sick of one flavor; however, I've been eating two of the super cookie crunch bars every day for months and I still look forward to it every time. They actually taste like oreos (to me at least). Good way to start a day is one of these with milk, then I bring one to school to eat while I don't get a chance between classes to eat lunch.

However, be wary of ordering them online. I only ordered one box from Amazon (sold by Amazon) and they were harder, crispier, and tasted a bit duller then the ones I buy elsewhere. Also, every bar was melted to the wrapper on the top (the "frosting" part), so due to however they store them I won't be ordering them online again. Walmart typically carries the 4 packs of super cookie crunch bars for $7, which is a bit cheaper anyway, just less convenient, but I can tell you they definitely taste better from Walmart than the box I got from Amazon, although it may have been a fluke box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Taste good at first but easy to grow sick of, October 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great taste initially, but grew very tired of it after 2 boxes worth (1 for breakast daily). Would not recommend large orders. Also, note higher carb count and lower carb:protein ratio vs other Big 100 bars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best taste... if you're in the mood for it, December 26, 2007

this bar really does have a taste that is ALMOST like apple pie, its a lot chewier, theres no smoothness to it, but you can see that they were trying. The only problem is, that after a workout, do you really want to eat a pie?

5.0 out of 5 stars Big 100 Colossal Bar Super Cookie Crunch 12 bar, September 19, 2007
These bars are very good. Best protein bar I every tried. This review is only for the super cookie crunch flavor. It is very good, there is crunch but not too much. I have tried the other flavors and I didn't like them but that doesn't mean that they aren't good. I would recommend going to a GNC near you and trying all the flavors.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only Met-Rx that I like, August 1, 2010

This tastes really good.. I was using pure protein and wanted to give a chance to this new item.
I like this more than any pure protein flavor.

I don't know why the price is more expensive than walmart. What is the idea of offering an item more expensive than local stores?(even after subs. and buy)

5.0 out of 5 stars Is that a BIG 100 in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?, January 9, 2009
At 5 3/4 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide, and 1 inch thick, the MET-Rx BIG 100 COLOSSAL SUPER COOKIE CRUNCH might even cause Mae West to break into a contented smile. Once upon a time there was just the venerable Tiger's Milk Bar Protein Rich 24 bars, a perennial favorite, but the meal replacement bar industry and individual tastes have evolved ("I used to be Snow White, but I drifted" - MW). And, of course, size does matter.

Were Mae to sensuously slide the wrapper off the BIG 100 ("Anything worth doing is worth doing slowly" - MW), she'd find a top layer visually resembling cream cheese along it's entire length, ostensibly vanilla, with the bottom third of the bar, also along its entire length, dipped in chocolate. The bulk of the bar is dense mass of dark brown, cocoa-flavored soy crisp held together by - you guessed it - more chocolate ("Too much of a good thing can be wonderful" - MW).

Biting into the BIG 100, your teeth will first encounter the smooth layer of vanilla on top, though it doesn't taste like much of anything except a bland sweetness. The payoff comes as you delve into the cookie's chocolaty interior where "crunch" becomes the operative term. Indeed, while the overall taste of the cookie is vaguely reminiscent of a traditional Oreo sandwich, the thrill is in the masticatory experience - smooth then crunchy texture.

If you take the time to peruse the discarded foil wrapper before tossing it out the window while driving through the national park, there's some interesting information to be had. Noted, of course, are the 32 grams of protein provided by the proprietary Metamyosyn VXP Blend (whey protein isolate, milk protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, egg white, L-glutamine), presumably to help build that solid muscle mass pumping iron ("A hard man is good to find" - MW). There are 0 grams of politically incorrect trans fat, so I guess I'll have to get my daily fix of that elsewhere, perhaps with a fried egg, bacon, cheese and mayo sandwich and a side of pommes frites ("I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it" - MW). The bar also provides 30% of the daily recommended iodine to fight off that pesky goiter. Especially useful are the directions that I usually only see on my vial of pills kept handy to ameliorate psychotic episodes:

"Adults, for best results drink 8 ounces of water or other liquid with this ..." Actually, I prefer skim moo. I doubt that beer would be a palatable chaser, though a college-age male might try anything.

The Clif Bars Clif Builder-Chocolate Box Of 12 2.4 oz, which rates a full 5-stars, is my very favorite meal replacement snack; the BIG 100 comes in a close second at 4.9 stars. If you've tried the former but not the latter, you should ("When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before" - MW).

The BIG 100 has personality ("Personality is the glitter that sends your little gleam across the footlights and the orchestra pit into that big black space where the audience is" - MW).

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Bar..., May 16, 2011
This bar is essentially two cups of Cocoa Krispies and ten Oreos (no filling) thrown into a blender until it's a fine powder. Then Take chocolate syrup and create enough structure in the cookie dust to form it into a bar. Cover in chocolate and put the filling from earlier on top. It's an amazing blend of flavors, enough chew to tire your jaw out if you eat it too fast, and when you drink the prescribed 8oz of water with it, it expands to give you a nice, cozy, sated feeling. With 32g of Protein and little carbs and fat, plus 410 total calories and at least 1/3 of all your daily vitaminas and minerals, this bar makes the perfect meal replacement for some unhealthy substitutes like poptarts or a donut and coffee. I've been using them as a post-workout protein supplement and/or a fast-food road-trip replacement and/or a breakfast on the go. I don't tend to eat more than two a day, just because I find myself feeling healthier when I eat a variety of healthy foods and find other, natural/non-supplementary sources for vitamins and minerals throughout the remainder of my day. Long story short: The bars are roughly $2.00 a piece and are a billion times better for you than two dollar-menu items. I'd buy the 4-pack box for $7 to maximize savings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Done, April 10, 2011

Met-Rx makes some amazing protein bars. My only complaint about the super cookie crunch is that it has 29 grams of sugar per bar. Some of there other bars have much less.
