This keyboard slide was easy to set up. All you need is to supply the wooden tray. I picked up a cheap ($9.00), long, white shelf from Lowes to match my white table. The slide comes with all the necessary wood screws. The nice thing about doing it this way is that you get to choose what color and how long you want the shelf. Many of the other ready-made keyboard trays I've seen have been too short for me i.e. there is only space for a keyboard but none for a mouse. Sometimes those other trays will have a pull-out section just for the mouse but I doubt those would be sturdy. By getting a longer shelf/piece of wood, you can also have space for a mouse and room to spare. Installation was fairly easy. I attached the rails to my chosen shelf, then attached the whole thing to the underside of my table. I had lots of stuff on my table already so I didn't bother turning it upside down. Instead, I used a box and one or two books to hold the shelf up to the table so I wouldn't have to hold it while trying to screw it in. The whole thing feels sturdy even with the weight of my hands resting on the keyboard tray. It also slides easily and quietly. Am very happy with the purchase and would buy this product again if/when I have a need for another keyboard tray.

Although the keyboard slide is 14" long, it only extends ~10". I'm a woodworker making a desk for a client, and sadly this wonderfully put together ball bearing drawer slide is too short for my project! No information on the page stated the 10" extension - I assumed it to be a 14" extension given that was the only number on the product page.

Edit: Amazon added the slide travel information, and thus I've changed my review from 2 to 4 stars. I was unhappy when I received it, but it's really well made, and now all the product specs are listed.

These came as a pair, with mounting screws included. I flipped my height-adjustable brackets around and set on the deepest depth. Tray slides easily, and locks into place. Just what I needed.

So I rarely review items but felt this one needed a quick warning, I have had these for a couple months and they work fine, very easy for a competent handyman to figure out how to install... HOWEVER I just ripped a 2 inch hole in my pants as I sat down to work at my desk this evening, thankfully my phone was there to keep the metal edge from cutting skin! (and it was the back so no screen damage) I can't believe I missed this so far but there is a small area of the metal runner at the front that the plastic cover doesn't protect you from. Should be easy to fix with tape or by bending with some pliers so not a deal breaker, I just wish I had noticed sooner.

These are great slides. I ordered a pair of them to make some under-desk drawers for a work desk I have in the garage. The only reason I'm rating these a four is because I ended up finding a comparable keyboard slide at the local Home Depot (on the very bottom shelf of their cabinet drawer part section) for almost half the price (after adding in shipping for the one's here).

I researched for days to find the right keyboard tray, only to discover low-cost/low quality plastic products or high-end/solid but expensive wooden trays. I ran across these slider hinges and found the best of both worlds. They are very solid, smooth and safe. If you are at all handy, installation is simple requiring only a philips-head screwdriver. I had nice, laminated unused shelf that happened to perfectly match my desk. It took one saw cut to trim it to the dimensions I needed. Total installation time was about an hour. I now have a high-end solution that cost $22 rather than $150.

Just what I wanted. With these two well made quality slides I was able to make my shelf just wide enough to accommodate my keyboard as I keep my mouse on the desk. The travel on these are 9-5/8" which is more than enough for a keyboard. Using a 1/2 thick shelf material I was able to raise the brackets to the highest adjustment putting the bottom part of the slides 2-1/2" down from the desktop. but the brackets hung down a little more so I cut off the excess for maximum clearance for my chair arms and my knees. The spread on the shelf mounting tabs front to back are 7-1/4" so your shelf board has to be at least that.

Cheapest slides I could find and they work great. Very smooth. No Complaints. I've since purchased two more computer keyboard sliders.
