Does what it's supposed to.,

The device does what it's supposed to. Doesn't come with instructions, but after about 15 seconds study (or less), you get it: Slip it over the tap (as indicated in the picture here), and turn the key until the handle cannot be pulled forward (the key is actually used to 'screw' the pressure fitting against the handle). My only caution is don't over-tighten and risk stressing or breaking the assembly.
Wish list: Maybe some sort of collar to keep near when it's not in place. An if it had an actual rubber cap for the tap to prevent air getting in and help keep it clean, that would be sweet.

Nice idea, but...,

A month ago, my 2 year old grandson opened one of my taps and spilled about 5 gallons of beer on my laundry room floor. That's when I knew something needed to change. I bought 2 of these (one for each tap) and am very happy with one exception. Because you use a key to lock/unlock, it has to stop perpendicular to the floor (or parallel to the tap lock device depending upon how you look at it). One of my taps locks perfectly while the other stops about 5 degrees before being able to remove the key. Backing off the key to be able to remove it causes the tap to be able to be opened to a fast drip. Not acceptable given my environment. So, I'm forced to jam a small piece of cardboard between the plunger and the tap which solves the problem. Not a big deal but these things are not terribly cheap so I expected a bit more flexibility in the closure aspect.

We purchased this lock because we have 3 teenage boys in the house and didn't want to worry about them or having to fend off their friends who might want to sneak from the keg. It works great and is easy to use.

This product is so simple it's perfect. The lock pushes right up to the tap and locks it into place. Only problem...comes with only one key.

Does the job but be careful!,
This review is from: Metal Beer Kegerator Faucet Lock
We bought this for our office Kegerator.
It totally does the trick but it is EASILY overtightened. You need to turn the key JUST enough to stop the beer from flowing when you pull the handle. We had 1 key break off in the lock within the first month. Eventually this thing completely broke and got stuck on our kegerator and had to be removed via hacksaw :) Still recommend this product (we will probably purchase another one because it lasted a fairly long time)- just be really careful when tightening it!

lock up,
This review is from: Metal Beer Kegerator Faucet Lock
A key is meant to lock and unlock. People have a tendency to turn the key too far to achieve a tighter fit. The threaded section that comes out is of a different metal than the brass section that turns. If turned too tight the threads freeze up. When this happens, the key is hard to turn thus twisting the key. If this happens several times the key can actually break off in the cyclinder. Then you have to use a screwdriver to push in on the part of the key that is broken off inside the cyclinder and turn to open up the lock. Then unless you can get the piece of broken key out the lock is useless.

does the job,
This review is from: Metal Beer Kegerator Faucet Lock
This lock does the job. Easy to use, just slip the lock over the faucet and turn the key until snug. The lock is set to allow the key to removed at quarter turn increments. Only complaint is that it comes with only one key. What are they thinking??? Save money and take your one key to a local hardware/home store, or locksmith to get duplicate copies cheaper than the vendor sells them for.

Works like a charm!,

Easy system to use -- you screw the lock into place and then pull out the key (just don't over tighten) -- decent system to keep "unauthorized" access to your favorite brew. Only wish it came with more than one key. If you are looking to just have a locking system, this is a good product to use for the price.
