It's a fun, no mess model.

This is a clever idea, but pieces are too small to handle & are thin metal, but hard to bend into shapes needed.

Not that difficult to build; but a bit difficult to build WELL.
The floors are built one at a time, then stacked on top of each other. The pins that hold the lower walls to the upper floor, and the upper walls to that same floor, insert at the same circular distance out. That description may not make sense until you actually build the Tower, but what it means is you have parts fighting for space, and the result is that it is difficult to put it together well

The outer guard rails make the tower look fantastic; but you have to be VERY CAREFUL in pre-shaping them (I used AA and AAA batteries to roll the shapes), else they won't come out looking well

I take 3 stars away for difficulty and the parts fit issue, and give one back because of subject. This is a model of the Leaning Tower!!!

This is my 5th model.
This model driven me crazy because it is pretty hard and it's not fun as it seems.
The thing is I do not really like to bend metal into a prefect circle. However, this model is entire in cirle.
It is hard. Real hard. I have already built 16 models and I still think this is the hardest one.

I have both the Big Ben and Tower of Pisa Metal Earth 3D models. First I put together the Big Ben model, it was slightly challenging and rewarding and it looks nice, despite certain parts that are going to look flawed unless you work on it under a strong magnifier, with very precise tools. Overall, I was satisfied with it which is why I was inspired to do another. When I first looked at the instruction sheet for the Tower of Pisa model, I knew it was going to be tedious and difficult but I did not expect it to be the wreck that it was. To build the inner part of the tower it is almost impossible to fasten each "story" of the building together because the tabs are blocked by other parts of the construction. Then, to add the rows of arches around each level was a nightmare. Again, it is almost impossible to do this correctly. The metal is too malleable to make a round building with only your hands and a pair of pliers. It might be possible if you used a round dowel of the correct size, but you'd probably still warp it when you try to adhere it to the model. I use extra slim needlenose pliers to assemble these models. I do not recommend this particular model because I am very unhappy with how it looks and the time i wasted assembling it. I DO, however, recommend Metal Earth 3D models. I think it is a good product and I will be purchasing more of these because I enjoy this type of a project. It requires only needlenose pliers, no paint, no adhesives, etc. It's a fun, no mess model. I highly recommend the Big Ben model for a beginner and I am excited to get a more intricate model such as the Himeji Castle. I think when it comes to these models, some of the varieties you see are just too flimsy to assemble properly.Read more ›

This one was fun to put together, but doesn't look the best once completed. Each level is a separate ring, so as you assemble them, it can tend to lean a little more than it should - granted that's mostly on the model builder, but the design isn't their best.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa was probably my 20th MetalEarth 3D model I built and the curves and circles made this a difficult, yet fun challenge to build. The railing parts were very flimsy and delicate, which made the curve less perfect, but once the tabs are in place you can bend them for a better fit. The main core of the model was very sturdy and was on of the most rigid models I have built to date.

A tip for this model is to match all the seams so they all line up in a single line. Figure out which side you want displayed and place this seam in the back. Plan ahead for this part and do not bend or twist the tabs until you have figured this placement. It's a pain to undo the tabs once they are twisted or bent.

These kits are terribly designed and the instructions are worse than IKEA's (incomplete pictures only). I bought several and I'm very sorry I did. Thought it would be fun and end up with a cool display. The pieces are tiny and the metal is so thin that it dents and even breaks easily. There is so much missing from the directions that every time I installed a piece I could see how I should have done it differently. Bending, straightening and rebending destroys the piece. Don't waste your time and money but, if you have to have this, buy two: one to learn how it should be done and one to do it correctly.

This is my architecture model #6 so far. Very easy model to build. Look at the manual and discard it. Very useless. You need to get general idea of proper construction prior to building it. I got no broken parts, no bent (damaged) parts.
Never attempt to attach side arches like in the manual. No way to complete it this way. "How to" advice? Run your brain! Think how to achieve the best results despite manual!
Everything perfectly done. Almost invisible seams.
I have picture attached. I did it way better than on manufacture's website ref picture.

Take your time, patience, brain and put it all together in order to get model done.
