5.0 out of 5 stars metal fatigue RULES!
This game really does rule because other RTS games after you play a level you know what will happen the next time you play that level but,but metal fatigue is different. What I played in the demo just plain rocked the first time I played it I only played 2 levels and it took me 4 hours because the computer kept adapting the AI is excellent and the 3 layers of play...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Demo is cool...but.....
It always bugs out on my computer. I don't know if this is just a graphical problem or what, but the time I do get to play it is and awesome game. Now if only I could get a new computer to play it on....

5.0 out of 5 stars metal fatigue RULES!, July 8, 2000
This review is from: Metal Fatigue (CD-ROM)
This game really does rule because other RTS games after you play a level you know what will happen the next time you play that level but,but metal fatigue is different. What I played in the demo just plain rocked the first time I played it I only played 2 levels and it took me 4 hours because the computer kept adapting the AI is excellent and the 3 layers of play really made things more fun for me. The most unique feature of metal fatigue is the ability to customize combots which are 4 story tall combat robots which are pretty cool. This game is so cool that I already ordered it and im really excited.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, March 31, 2000

This game is an excellent foray into the world of RTS. I have played a demo, and it blew me away. the gameplay takes place on three levels, therefore making it an intenese game. The combots, the power of the battle field are completly customizable, you can steal enemy parts and use them. It is pure genius!

4.0 out of 5 stars Comment to Sarcastor's Review, September 29, 2000

Metal Fatigue is fun game due to it's endless combinations of Combots and no it's not as hard as Sarcastor makes it seem. I played level 4 on normal and it took me but an hour to beat. Metal Fatigue is considered - rts, meaning you do need strategy and the right approach. Metal Fatigue can be long or quick depending on your strategy. You can build an expanding defensive base or create a bunch of hovertrucks to gather streams of lava, and build a batallion of combots within the first ten minutes and annihalate teh computer before it has a chance to expand and start gaining an advantage due to the fact taht a computer can handle all three layers and expand simultaneosly.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN AWESOME GAME!, March 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Metal Fatigue (CD-ROM)
Metal Fatigue is just an awesome game. With 3 total battlefields, Giant make-them-yourself robots called combots, 3 warring corponations, and 8 player multiplayer, I make my point clear. Metal Fatigue does not get enough attention. The three corponations was a great idea. Rimtech, Mil-Agro, and Neuropa battle it out with everything they've got! And you can play as all three! The storyline is cool. It's about three brothers, Diego, Stefan, and Jonus Angeles. They all worked for Rimtech at the time. They find out about a great alien race called the hedoth. It appears that the Hedoth had wiped out other races. So they go and find a Hedoth droid. Jonus finds a new weapon and defeats the droid. The brothers argue what to do with the weapon, and chaos followed. Stefan was mistakenly hurt and thought dead, Jonus took the weapon to Neuropa, and Diego went back to Rimtech. Stefan was rescued and forced into service by theMil-Agro. ... In Gameplay, you choose who to be, Diego (Rimtech), Stefan(Mil-Agro), or Jonus(Neuropa), and have 10 missions on each, 30 missions in all. Also, there are 30 multiplayer missions. So with that in mind, I say: BUY THIS GAME!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good graphics, reasonably fun, August 24, 2000
This review is from: Metal Fatigue (CD-ROM)
When we saw Metal Fatigue become available, I have to admit we weren't keen on buying it. It looked like a cheezy cross between Mech Warrior and Command & Conquer. Still, it said strategy, so we decided to give it a try.

We were very disappointed to find, not only was there no manual in the box, but there wasn't even a CD liner to read. There wasn't any on line help either while you're playing - you have to have help open in another window and ALT-TAB between them to get any information. Not very user friendly.

The game itself, though, is actually pretty interesting. You're part of one of three different factions - each one builds not only the standard little ground units, but also giant metal robots which you can customize quite a bit. You decide what kinds of arms and legs and body they have, then slowly build them while you construct your base around it.

You can build yourself a group of these robots, each one different, and set them out against the enemies. The graphics are really very nice, although not quite as good as Dark Reign 2, which pushed the envelope on strategy gaming graphics.

The lanscapes are quite intriguing, with different levels, craters, mountains, shadows, and other features that help make gameplay varied and interesting.

If you're interested in Mech Warrior or that kind of robot-based game, you'll probably like customizing your warriors in here, and building your attack force. If you're a raw strategist, you might want to start with Dark Reign 2 and then get this as a fun side game to play.

THIS GAME ROCKS! building at all 3 levels and making your own parts, Whoever said it was slow is wrong, try "+" or "-" change game speed(i dont like people that complain and don't know the keys do the game). Oh well he making this game look bad. But i would recommend this game to anyone who likes strategy games, it is very unique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Metal Fatigue as an RTS, December 10, 2003

I have played a few RTS games an this is definetly the best.

The combots are like god units and have nearly infinite combinations. The three nations/factions are balanced and have specific power and weakness. There's Rimtech- with balanced kinetic and energy based weapons-Rimtech also has a nice variety of long/short range weapons.
Mil-Agro- mostly close range kenetic weapons. They're long range parts are few but effective
Neuropa- has mostly energy weapons- they have cloaking and self repairing parts

There are two weapon types Kentic-Physical
and energy-which is energy powered parts- get this game and play it

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game that is NOT too hard!, July 6, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Metal Fatigue (CD-ROM)
Metal Fatigue is a great game with cool graphics and giant robots. The game isn't that difficualt to play and it doesn't take as long as the other guy said to build things. I don't think he knows that the more factories you have, the faster things build. Six combots in 2 hours! No way! I can build hundreds in that amount of time! Anyway, the game's multiple levels of play (orbit, surface, underground) add a huge element to strategy and gameplay. You can drill out areas of the underground, build an elevator under your opponents base and SURPRISE! Even cooler, you can steal parts from your enemy to use against them and to build for yourself!

Okay, I've had this game since about 2000, when my friend Garrett told me about it. I went through *&#$ to get it, but when I did, I was blown away. Excellent graphics, great AI, and frighteningly realistic battles all combined with a Futuristic alien setting and giant robots. What does this equal? Fun. I'm just a tad angry you can't find it anywhere, so I'm relieved I bought it early on. I just wish there would be a sequel. Im even thinking of e-mailing some of the people at Zono and trying to convince them to do just that. If you see this review and think the sequel is a good idea, go ahead and e-mail me at kyrasdraven@hotmail.com. This game=godly fun.
