We just finished Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance a few days ago and loved it, we had to have the boss battle themes! This soundtrack has all of the boss themes with vocals plus instrumental remixes for each.

The music for Revengance is an awesome mix of heavy rock and dubstep; normally I'm a huge dubstep hater but this is so well done and not at all the usual farty-annoying noises that I've become so used to hearing branded as dubstep. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the game and even to those who haven't played the game but just like hard rock.

That Monsoon theme alone sold me on the fact that the whole game was going to have a great soundtrack... AND IT SURE DID!!!

The game's music changed as you made progress during a boss battle.... IT IS BLISS fighting & having the themes get louder & then the lyrics kick in.

I HOPE OTHER DEVELOPERS USE MUSIC LIKE PLATINUM DID IN METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE!!!

When I found out that there was a MGR Vocal Tracks soundtrack after the pounding in my eardrums near-orgasmic experience that was the soundtrack in battle, I blindly spent money to purchase it. In hindsight, I should have probably spent a bit more time actually researching it.

For what is given, it is passable, you still get that "feel" from the game in the music, but to be honest, you do not get the "FULL" tracks that were done for the game, as someone who was expecting the full content because Soundtracks rarely skimp on their product. Sadly, I have a feeling this was a case of executive meddling from Konami and I will sooner or later find out that the full content was released in another release.

Suffice to say, I will give three stars for the overall product, but nothing more because I should be paying for the full content, not a skimmed down version that takes away from the character songs in providing both characterization and context as to who they were.

I was sold on the soundtrack pretty much as soon as Rules of Nature kicked in during the Metal Gear RAY fight.

It strikes a perfect blend between alt. rock/metal and electronic, which is normally a mixture I'd step away from. But Christopherson does a marvellous job combining these elements.

Highlights are pretty much all the boss themes (Rules of Nature and A Stranger I Remain especially), Dark Skies and The War Still Rages Within.

The downside to this album is it lacks the incredible instrumental-to-vocals mixing that the game offers, but a bit of judicial audio editing will solve that.

In tradition of MGS, Revengeance has awesome music that fits the game. Power and some industrial and symphonic metal. What makes the sound even better are the lyrics, which along are great but actually are written for the game, specifically the characters and the themes, which I think needs to be done more now that MGR and Platinum have shown how great it works. If you played you know that first battle how sweet it was to get those vocals when you're tearing it up.

But wow. If you were hoping for something resembling what you heard during the game... (instrumental building until some key point where the vocals enter) or "full length" songs, well not here and not on the soundtrack released with some versions of the game.

Theses are all awesome, but wow check out youtube for some longer tracks, and even some original versions. I wish Konami would release a complete OST with the full length versions of these songs, along with all the other little pieces during cut-scenes. Collective Consciousness and Stranger I Remain are my favorite.

This album contains the vocal tracks in MGR, mostly found during boss encounters. The songs fall into the power metal genre and are themed to the boss characters themselves, which I liked a lot; it reminded me of the Cuts Unleashed CD for Sonic Adventure 2. However, the songs are remixed to a shorter length than their original versions in the OST. Nevertheless you still get your money's worth, with both normal and instrumental versions of each song. Worth looking if you're a fan of MGR and/or power metal.

This makes Raiden and the whole MGS franchise shine like Platinum! All tracks fit the game's situational boss battles in an epic way. 90% of the songs are great for getting pumped and hyped for working out or just getting through a boring day. Thanks to JP Kellam of Platinum Games for finding Jamie Christopherson. Such a great ear for the right type of music!

Probably the most fitting soundtrack to a video game, period. There may have been series' with more memorable music, like LoZ and Mario, Final Fantasy and the like, but these songs fit this game PERFECTLY. Absolute favorite OST.

Although the tracks are not the internally looped versions from the actual game (which could be made yourself or the like by splicing), the music itself is wonderful and worth supporting.
