Every body in the world is talented in one way or other. But, not everybody brings their talent or skill to the outside world. Lot of qualities in yourself may become stumbling block to achieve this. Often times, external forces. At one stage, one will have self-confidence, determination, aggressiveness, focus altogether that will help him/her to achieve things easier. To attain that stage, one has to conquer lot of hurdles, importantly the mind. Many phrases in this book are stimulants to one's mind. This books "Metal Sculpture & The Mind of Art" is excellent catalyst for anyone who wants to brings his/her internal / hidden skills to the outside world. This review is from: Metal Sculpture & The Mind of Art (Paperback)
Craig Evans has dedicated his book "Metal Sculpture and the mind of art" to the reader. "May you find your creation ". It is a unique gesture. What follows is unique too. The book describes precisely and exhaustively the creation of metal sculpture. Of particular interest is the care the author has taken to include safety measures. The observations on art and creativity are touching some chord in the reader. Yes, I would like to "take one idea, and bring it to life" (i.e.), I'm inspired to write my first book. Thank you Craig Evans.

I enjoyed this book because it gave me insight into where real art really comes from - the heart. Anytime a writer cares enough to put their thoughts and ideas before the scruitinizing public it involves a risk - one I'm sure that had a price. Craig incorporates his personal experiences with the process beautifully. The concepts are simple, but what strikes a person is the words that are not written. I only wish I had read this book sooner. I am looking forward to seening more work from this writer.

Enlightening,
By Steve Gifford (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Metal Sculpture & The Mind of Art (Paperback)
Prior to having read this book, I knew little if anything about metal sculpture. Having read this book, I now know that I knew even less about the creative process. Mr. Evans has done an outstanding job of illustrating the metal sculpture process in a manner that provides creative stimulation as well as step-by-step instruction. He laces the pages of direction with insightful anecdotes of his life and philosophies. He guides you through the mental processes with the same grace and finesse that he uses to guide you through the mechanical processes. The exposure of his personal downfalls and triumphs clearly indicate that he is a normal, everyday type of person. That left me with the feeling of "If an ordinary guy like him can create this type of art, so can I!" That is exactly the type of motivation I have needed to help me begin my journey into the world of artistic creativity. I will be forever in his debt.
