Heavy, well made pans. The removable bottoms are fabulous for use with certain "sticky" products. However, the Chicago Metallic release coating is VERY sensitive to damage or scratching. When they say "Do not use metal utensils" they mean it! Even the edge of a non-serrated butter knife will scratch the finish. But overall, an excellent product that I would not hesitate to purchase again.

I bought several of the Chicago Metallic nonstick pans designed for small pastries, such as quiches, dessert tarts, and teacakes. The pans are uniformly excellent. The pans don't leak. Food does not stick. Crusts brown evenly. I look forward to many years of making food that looks elegant and tastes good.

I have used this tartlet pan several times and it is awesome. The nonstick coating works great; the tartlets slide out easily. If you have an especially buttery crust, you might want to put a cookie sheet on a lower rack in the oven. I liked this pan so much I bought another one so I could make two batches of tartlets at once.

The pans shipped pretty quickly. After using these pans, I love them. They bake evenly, the pastries slide out like a dream, they clean easily and seem to me very durable.
So far they've only been used for cheesecakes and pies, and both baked perfectly.

The only thing is, I noticed that the removable bottoms scratched very lightly after rubbing against each other during shipping, and while washing them one of the bottoms got another scratch. You'd have to actually look for them, its not like the scratches are drastic and noticable, but I'd still suggest to be careful and try to avoid it. Despite this, They still seem durable and I'd recommend these to anyone who likes baking. [:

This product is great. I love backing tiny pies and tarts in it. I do think this deserves a 5, but please be ware of one thing. The metallic film tends to peel off from time to time. Not sure what it's from, but some flakes tend to brush off during washing. But overall, it's a great product!

I bought two of these tart pans and used them to make individual apple, cherry, and pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. They were a huge hit and great fun. The pan is truly nonstick and very easy to clean. The tarts pop right out and the bottom disk comes off easily. I absolutely love these pans!

When a recent recipe called for making 4 individual tarts in mini springform pans, I came on Amazon to search for them. While I think the mini springform pans would work just as well, what I liked about these was the ease of having all 4 tarts in one pan. I have several Chicago Metallic baking pans and I have been pleased with them all. I used these to bake dark chocolate raspberry tarts and they came out beautifully. They popped up easily out of the pan, no greasing required. Clean up was easy. The only thing to note is that you must be careful when putting these in the oven and hold only the edges of the pan. I accidentally pushed up one of the bottoms as I was picking it up to put it in the oven, I immediately realized what I did and grabbed the pan by the edge. A little bit of the batter ended up under the pop up, but not enough to cause any problems. I know that is a no-brainer, but I suspect there might be others like me who didn't give it any thought!

I've made onion tarts, quiches, cornbread, fruit tarts, rhubard pies, breakfast casseroles, and brownies so far in this perfect little tart pan. I originally bought as a way to control portion size and have easy-to-pack individual meals for lunches and dinners. It bakes wonderfully, fits perfectly in my toaster oven (6 slice), and cleans up super easy. I have some individual tart pans, but it's so convenient to have this 4-in-1. I end up halfing most recipes and that is just about the perfect amount for the molds (for box brownies, I do two batches). They make the most basic fare look like something from a high-end bakery! And make controlling portion size so easy.

As others have noted, the finish is very touchy--scratches easily. I would have preferred a Nordic Ware pan (made in America), but alas as of this review, they do not make one with removable bottoms.

The size and shape of these pans are great for individual serving tarts. I have never baked in mine. I use them for making raw cheesecakes.

I love the removable bottoms--makes removing tender pastries almost worry free.

These come in a box. To protect the finish I plan to store them in their boxes. (I purchased more than one set.)

I have rated this set at three stars due to the fragile nature of the finish. For the price, a higher quality finish would have been nice.

They do what I want them to do. My caution to a buyer would be to baby the pans to protect the finish.
