5.0 out of 5 stars Strong translation of a seminal work
This is a strong translation of a seminal work.
Amazon needs to urgently revise their method for posting reviews. The negative review posted below by Steven Burnap applies to a wholly different text.

This public domain work is available completely free at [...] and has been copied here to take in the suckers who don't realize it.

Note that this other edition is both cheaper and doesn't rip off Project Gutenburg http://www.amazon.com/Metamorphosis-ebook/dp/B002LLO124/

4.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing Short Read, June 14, 2011

This review is from: The Metamorphosis (Paperback)
This is a story that you can finish in one sitting, and one that will leave you a little disturbed. Putting aside the lofty expectations we have of reading something from a literary name like Kafka, and the philosophical interpretations, the story itself is interesting, engaging and quirky. The protagonist, a work stressed Gregor, wakes to find himself transformed into an insect and the story follows his efforts to not be a burden on his family.

With respect to the other reviews, there are a lot of versions of this work out there, including those in the public domain for free, so readers should consider which version they want to read.
