These crunchy fiber wafers look and taste like cookies and they make a good between meal or on the go snack. They have 120 calories per serving and some fat and sugar, but thankfully no artifical sweeteners. If you live on them as a daily supplement, you might get a little tired of them, so it would be great if they came in a variety pack. They are also available in cinnamon, but I am not sure if the pricing options are the same. Also they seem to taste best and it's easier to swallow them when you eat them along with a hot drink such as tea or coffee. If you eat them with cold water (such as in the car on the go), you may find them sticking to your teeth and they may seem gummy in consistency. There may be an adjustment period of a few days while your body gets used to the extra fiber and you may experience some mild abdominal cramping or discomfort. Supposedly Metamucil with psyllium fiber is good for any irregularity, so you may find that they help with both constipation and loose bowel movements. The extra fiber that you incorporate into your diet may be helpful in reducing bloating and reducing your calorie intake. For another helpful addition, try Mestemacher's varieties of whole grain German breads - also available on Amazon for a good price in a 12-pack. Also add nuts and chia seeds for additional fiber and nutrition.

This tastes great and helps in bowel movement. People who complain must know how to eat is correctly with a liquid like tea or lemonade or anything they like.

Several reviewers mention that the wafers stick to their gums and teeth. They are probably eating them like regular wheat or oatmeal cookies, so of course the psyllium fiber is going to wad up in their mouth. It's psyllium, folks. It helps the bowels precisely because it forms a gel with water ... Wheat and oatmeal cookies don't do this, they just crumble and dissolve in your mouth. So don't gobble the psyllium wafers in huge bites like a wheat/oatmeal cookie, and keep drinking the water while you eat.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR A HAPPY PSYLLIUM WAFER EXPERIENCE:

Step 1: Take a small bite.
Step 2: Chew.
Step 3: Swallow.
Step 4: Drink some water or other liquid.

Repeat Steps 1-4 until wafer is gone and your glass of water is empty. Don't rush. Enjoy!

Make sure you end up drinking at least a full glass of water in the process. I really like the taste of both the cinnamon and apple versions myself, so it isn't hard to slow down and enjoy it. If you don't like the taste for any reason - try other forms of Metamucil (powders, capsules) if you need the medical benefit.

If you're taking it for constipation - don't expect instant results. It's not really a laxative that forces the bowels to move things along (actually can be used for diarrhea as well as constipation and any problems in between) but helps to normalize bowel function via its gel-forming properties, which is better in the long run. It's so safe that it can even be used for cats (well, not the wafers...) at appropriate doses, which is not often the case since cats are so sensitive and their little kitty livers are so inefficient compared to dogs and humans.

I had colic when I was a baby, battled intestinal upset on and off and after I had my daughter, battled daily diarrhea for 16 years. I have had all the test done (allergies, colonoscopy, bacterial etc.), and the doctors pretty much said I have IBS, which I think is a catch all. I tried all the fiber powder & pills and none worked. I found these wafers recommended on a blog and after 4 days of eating them in the morning, I am now regular. I am also taking calcium pills in the morning & night and I have quit drinking coffee & soda. I am so happy, my skin is starting to look better too because I am not losing all the water. I hope they make these forever.

These are a great way to up your fiber for the day. I am on a diet where you eat every 2 hours and I always use the cookies as one of my snacks. Lately I have added a slice of banana on top of the wafer and I have to say it is delicious. I just ordered several boxes as the price on amazon is especially good and I got free shipping too. I am so happy I found these apple crisp to make adding fiber a good thing I enjoy doing instead of something I have to do.

I bought these wafers after being told by my doctor to start using "Metamucil" after having some bleeding issues. When perusing amazon for options I came across these wafers. I had tried a sample of them a few years ago when they first started marketing them. I ordered the apple crisp variety. The price is great for a 3 pack. I like the flavor of them but they smell a bit odd. I agree with other reviews that having them with a warm/hot beverage is probably best. I will buy them again as I need to maintain. I like that that Metamucil is also a good cholesterol reducer which is a nice side note for my nearly 40 year old self.

All of my children think these taste great and I agree. One of them even calls them cookies. I can't say that I have noticed a difference in the 'outcome' of these fiber supplements though.

So review: Taste super yummy, like apple cinnamon cheerios. Good for dietary fiber supplement, no real laxative effect.

Great way to get some daily fiber. Ususally, I have them with coffee in the morning - or as a snack in the evening. They taste fine - especially compared with the alternatives!

Metamucil Fiber Supplement Wafers are great! It's like eatting a cookie! Tastes great and adds fiber to your diet! I love them. Apple and the Cinnamon are great. It does help give that full filling too.

These wafers taste great but they stick to your teeth. I have never eaten anything that sticks to your teeth like these do. Not a fan of this product.
