Essential Album,
By Fabrice De Saint Remy (France) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Metamorphe (Audio CD)
Although Larkin isn't as well know as Detroit founding fathers May & Atkins, and generally ignored by press and so-called techno fans, he's one of very few artists to have come up with a real electronic album, meaning not only a collection of techno tracks, but a real compact piece of art. All the tracks here are a quest towards beauty. Kenny can make machines sing, there is so much emotion coming out his work, plus some tracks have also been dancefloor fillers for years now. If you're an electronica fan you must buy this. If you're not, buy it too: it may radically change your vision of techno.

Very Essential,
By Gabriel Jennings (Ft. Wayne, IN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Metamorphe (Audio CD)
"Azimuth" was the CD that hooked me on Detroit techno, this CD made the attraction even stronger. Larkin is a master of machines...rather than many electronic artists who either just randomly twiddle knobs or just get all their sounds from a sample CD, Kenny Larkin clearly knows exactly what he is doing. Every track on this album is soulful and beautiful, exactly the way techno is SUPPOSED to be! -gj
