5.0 out of 5 stars Method, my hands salute you
These soaps work really hard, but they don't strip your hands dry like other soaps can. 3.0 out of 5 stars Method Hand Soap
This soap is well---------soap. Nothing special. Foams well, cleans your hands and does not leave a lingering girly smell so my husband uses it without complaint.

These soaps work really hard, but they don't strip your hands dry like other soaps can. To illustrate: my husband's a doctor, so we're really conscientious about washing our hands after every little thing; some soaps can take a toll on your skin pretty quickly with frequent use. Add to that the fact that I wasn't prepared for how dry the winters get around here (having just moved from Memphis), so my hands got painfully chapped and cracked until I switched to Method soaps. They didn't strip my hands, but they also weren't impossible to rinse off like some "moisturizing" soaps. They leave the natural oils in my skin, so my hands actually have a fighting chance!

I've been a big fan of Method products for a while now, but also worth mentioning is that my mother-in-law was wowed by them when she recently visited. She's no stranger to high-ticket products, so when she started gushing about the soap in my bathroom and asking where in the world I found it, I knew Method had cracked the code. This stuff is easily the best you'll find at the local supermarket, and it could probably hold its own against some of the boutique products out there.

One (semi-) downside: I can't get the refills locally. That's ok, though, since it gives me a chance to try all of the great scents they have!

5.0 out of 5 stars As Long as You Like Grapefruit, July 28, 2006
This review is from: Method Hand Soap, Pink Grapefruit, 12-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)
"Method" is a San Francisco-based company specializing in "environmentally friendly" cleaning products, both for the home and for personal use. There's no animal testing, and, with the exception of their tallow-containg dryer sheets, no animal products are used.

Pink grapefruit hand soap is an effective and gentle product that cleans well with no sudsing action. It has a very noticeable grapefruit smell, it will seem fresh and energizing to some, but will (naturally) repulse those who don't like the scent of grapefruit. While there are no articifial scents, and the grapefruit scent is not harsh or overpowering, it is definitely not fragrance-free.

The soap contains "naturally-derived, biodegradable ingredients and contain vitamin E and aloe." However, their website (methodhome.com) informs us also that "for intellectual property reasons we do not give out the specific names of the chemicals we use." For various reasons, this is not an antibacterial soap (for example, method believe that antibacterial soap is not necessary given 20 seconds of washing with an non-antibacterial soap, that overuse of such ingredients might lead to increased bacteria resistance, and that these agents biodegrade more slowly than others--see website for more information). Bottom line: If grapefruit is OK with you, this is an excellent product that gets the job done with little or no environmental impact.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best scent with a look that goes anywhere, February 16, 2007

Method products and ad campaigns are usually very attractive. It's difficult to find the range of products and scents available. Even at Target it's hard to find Sweet Water. Because it's clear, it fits any decor and the smell is quite wonderful. Also, I much prefer this version to the same thing in foaming hand wash. Buying in bulk is also much more convenient, instead of depending on the whimsy of what varieties appear on the shelves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invigoratingly light scent and my hands aren't dried out after, September 26, 2007
This review is from: Method Hand Soap, Pink Grapefruit, 12-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)
Love the grapefruit smell of this soap! I keep on in the bathroom and one by the kitchen sink. It's worked much better than Ms. Meyers when it comes to not drying out my hands and does the job as a hand soap well.

I got hooked on to Method Hand Wash a long time ago, when Costco sold multi-packs. The bottle looks good in our guest bathrooms, and the soap smells nice. Costco long ago stopped carrying it, and local stores sometimes do, sometimes don't. When they do, it is expensive. Ordering on Amazon is convenient, and amongst the lowest priced options for this hand soap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally!, April 25, 2009
Finally! A liquid soap without all the perfume! We had been using another brand which seems to have disappeared. Since it has been gone I have wasted so much money trying different brands, but they all left so much scent on our hands, which is just annoying for my family and a migraine trigger for me. I happened upon one lone bottle of this (Go Naked) at Target. I've used the soap a few times now and was so thrilled that it really doesn't have any perfume scent or even that 'take-your breathe-away' soap smell. I only gave it 4 stars bcause I have used soaps that seem to be less harsh/ drying. This doesn't seem bad, but perhaps a little harsher on the hands than some of the other scented brands. I'm ordering the 6 pack right now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Availability of Method Hand Wash, Go Naked (no fragrance), April 12, 2009
It is difficult for those of us with allergies/sensitivities to perfumes to get products without fragrances added. I was unable to get it at the local store, though they originally carried it. So I was pleased to find it at Amazon for a competitive price. It arrived promptly and with six bottles will last a long time!Method Hand Wash, Go Naked, 12-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 6)

Method is a great value for the money, particularly when buying a multi-pack. The hand soap does not dry your skin and all the smells are nice. We prefer the sweet water in my house as it's not too strong smelling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it. Too expensive., January 3, 2011
Method Soap, specifically the Sweet Water scent is perfect. You don't need much to be effective, it lasts a long time, it smells great and it's a soft smell that doesn't linger, it feels good on my hands... but it's too damn expensive. At my local grocery store, it's (on sale) currently $3.50. I ended up buying some softly scented vanilla Dial soap for $1 on sale instead. It's usually better priced on Amazon, and if you get the refill pack at 34oz (pack of 6) it works out to about $2.16/bottle which is way more manageable. But still, from the price, you'd think they collect this soap as dew from a rare flower. Considering how good the soap is, I'd almost believe it.
