This review is from: The Method of Moments in Electromagnetics (Hardcover)
This text is truly excellent. It is a clear, concise, and up-to-date exposition on applying the method of moments to E&M problems. I like the approach of deriving the general integral equations and their solution via method of moments _first_ (chapters 2 and 3) and _then_ applying these to successively more complicated problems in subsequent chapters: thin wires (chapter 4), 2D problems (chapter 5), bodies of revolution (chapter 6), and general 3D problems (chapter 7). There's a brief intro to fast multipole method in chapter 8.
Derivations are generally clear and the references are up-to-date. There are some really instructive figures in the book that the author went out of his way to generate for the reader's benefit. Also, there is a fair bit of practical implementation knowledge in the book, too. Finally, the book is concise (yet still packed with info) which I do appreciate. There are no exercises/problems for the reader. |
