This was a "can't put down" read for me. The engaging and upbeat tone accelerates the reading pace. If you read into it very far, you won't confuse the upbeat tone with a lack of having a critical eye on the business. I found the book refreshingly honest with particular high marks for:- all the insight on the social dynamics that apply to their design driven company. This is a book about people, and managing good talent. - sharing the pains and gains from failures in the occasional snippets, "error autopsy". There is plenty here that will inspire and educate, a reference manual for entrepeneurs and other positive thinkers. Recommended. I'll be getting another copy for the Kindle.

An amazing book with great insights into the Ups and Downs of starting your own company while taking on the market giants. An inspiration for anyone who cares about planet earth and wants to do their part in making the world a better place one person at a time! Guts, tenacity and a willingness to look at the status quo and say - there's a better way. A "Must Read" for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

I loved the book! Spunky and a must read for anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit. It takes true grit to do what these guys have done! They have provided inspired innovation in a dead category and the rest of the industry has taken notice! An engaging and very interesting story!

Truly and great read for those who always wanted to or are starting their own company. Sure the environmental aspect of the product is great, but they took it to another level by making their products visible appealing to the user. The key, no longer do you need to hide away your cleaning products. The Method founders have elevated the playing field for future consumer products. Going green has never been cooler and yes the products work great.

This book tells a good story of the ups/downs of a start-up company. What makes it an exceptional read is that they admit their mistakes and tells you what went right, what went wrong and what they got lucky on. They had an idea of producing sustainable, effective cleaning products and made it happen. What is not typical is they have stayed with the company over the past 10 years and the company has prospered, it was not a flash in the pan. They have created a unique business culture which still lives today. It is a great success story where everyone can take something away from the book for use in their own business or lives.A good read, I would buy it.

Quick, fun, insightful read,

I happened to spot this book at the library and devoured the first chapter on the train ride home.I am a fan of Method, I use a few of their products and used to really like them but not so much as of late. I was an early adopter so I was interested in hearing their story. Even if you only read the first chapter you will learn some valuable "take-aways" that you've likely heard before but somehow seem like fresh insight (you're going to have to work hard as hell to ever be successful; find the opportunity in an existing market instead of trying to invent something new, etc.) that are great for entrepreneurs but really could be applied to many facets of life. The tone is really informal and light, even though they are brutally honest about the details of building the business. And I love how they just put it all out there, and then immediately then say, "we really shouldn't have done that" and what they learned from the mis-step. Only disappointment is that I can't find it noted what the heck font they used. Reminds me a little of Futura or maybe Tahoma, I dunno but I really like it along with the bold use of color. The graphic design of the book is very different and fresh from most books (copyright page is even in the back instead of after the cover page). I love it enough to think I want to buy the old-fashioned paper copy instead of Kindling it. Pick this up, you won't be sorry you did!

I heart method,

Full disclosure - I loved Method before I read this book. I had at least five or six of their products at my house. After reading The Method Method, I love this company even more. And want to find and use all of their products. And give them as gifts. And become a full-blown Method advocate. This is an engaging, honest, and insightful read. I always love the story of an underdog, and this is a good one - two guys taking on the tired, wasteful, dirty cleaning products market. Reading this book gave me hope that good companies like Method can change the world by sticking to their mission, embracing creativity, and never saying "that's good enough" or "that's the way it is." Ingenuity, innovation, efficiency, design. Oh, yeah, and they're green. Thank you, Method! (Love the back of the book jacket, btw)

Great book should be used as a teaching journal. Personally lived through the ups and downs as described. Anyone with any idea should read this. Well written and based on fact.Put your balls in a wheel barrel like Adam and Eric. This books screams the truth, good and bad. Not a self serving fluff book. A real tale based on fact . Take the category these kids attacked. Then read the book and buynthe product. The youngbcan take heed. James v. Merlo

These guys are so full of themselves. They have not reinvented anything or revolutionized anything. First off, I like method but their cleaning products pale in comparison to Greenworks and other natural cleaners. Second, they are hardly the first nor will they be the last people to create yuppie, trendy versions of products. There's a variation of that for every kind of product. Every time I read something about the makers of method or from the makers of method, it's a self-congratulatory ego-masturbation about how amazing they are. Method has some nice shaped bottles and nice scents but they still have a long way to go and there is nothing original about them.
