This dash kit looks great and fits perfect, I would recommend to anyone who needs a dash kit, for an aftermarket stereo.

Other than the small pocket the Metra dash kits are simple to use and look good.

Previous dash kit had left my a small gap in my interior, then saw this kit recommended through a popular forum. Gave it a shot and am now satisfied; no gaps between the interior, the extra compartment is nice, and the color is close enough to my OEM dash's color.

Instructions have some of the most low-res pictures for reference I have ever seen. Ended up using one of the wrong bolts which denied fitting it into my dash properly. A 10 minute setback which could have been avoided, but oh well.

Just received this today. I regretted taking the dash apart again because I already was using another face plate but everything worked out for the better. Putting it together was a little confusing at first because I used the wrong screws to put the connectors on it, so make sure you use the little screws and nuts if you have a Pontiac Grand Prix.
After figuring that out I installed the stereo carriage and it went in ok but you will need to bend most of the tabs so it doesn't slide in and out easy.
The face plate fits good and looks great compared to the other because the stereo no longer sticks out as far. The storage area fits my IPhone 4 good so it is great for that and other items. I would of given it 5 stars but it could of been designed better to get the carriage to fit tighter.

Fits nice and snug in my '98 Malibu, the pocket is perfect for my iPod and cord. I really worked on the tabs to get the mounting sleeve from my head unit as tight as possible.

While this kit made the installation of an aftermarket radio very easy, there was a fair amount of difficulty in securing the DIN cage.

The clips for my application mounted securely to the kit and are more than enough to secure the whole thing into the dash, but the DIN cage was difficult to secure to the kit. The tabs on the top of the radio's DIN cage were easy to bend into place, but the jewel case pocket prevented the tabs from securing the bottom. I was finally able to create shims to place between the pocket and the cage, which virtually eliminated the looseness in the installation.

Overall, the result is a look that is not as obscenely "aftermarket" as other radio installs I have seen. It places the front of the radio even with the surrounding dash panels, and in my opinion makes the aftermarket install blend into the dash better than the factory deck did. My shims bowed the top of the jewel case pocket a little, but it isn't too noticeable.

In summary, the kit looks good, and holds my radio very securely, although it took a slight bit of fabrication to make it fit as secure as it does.

I bought this dash kit to install an after market 1 DIN stereo in a 1.5 DIN hole. Fit perfect. Kit had every thing I needed but I recommend making it even more secure by using some rubber outdoor 2 sided tape to help secure the Din Cage into the Dash Kit. Be sure and place the bolts into the Dash Kit before installing the tape and DIN Cage into the Dash Kit. I used a female wiring harness wired to my stereo plug so all I had to do was plug it into my car's wiring harness plug, plug in the antenna, and push in the stereo until it snapped into place. Job Done. Compartment under the stereo is small but holds my remote or sunglasses fine. Looks good and works well. I would buy another one.
