This seems 4 times brighter than other LED lights I've been using, and has more modes and brightness levels. Both lights are easy to mount on various thickness handlebars or posts (and remove quickly so I don't have to leave them on my bike for thieves). Nice rechargeable batteries from USB connection (indicator lights show when the two lights are fully charged); includes one USB cable (to charge one device at a time). Water resistance is nice (I don't want to ride in the dark when it rains unexpectedly), make sure you seal the USB port tightly when it rains.

I wish they had an instruction sheet (not just the side of the small box); to say how to use all the modes. I would rather have spent 2 minutes reading instructions, than 10 minutes figuring out how to use all the nice features. (some of the basics: You press the button to toggle between modes, a long press powers the unit off, The light returns to the mode last used when powered back on; indicator light flashes while charging, and solid on when fully charged.

There are four brightness levels for constant-on; I use the brighter levels for faster speeds when I need to see very far ahead to respond in time to obstacles or broken glass, or when traveling where there are many competing bright lights from heavy car traffic and city lights.

I have been using these lights for night commuting on and off for the past several month and have yet to charge them. The first time charging these lights took around half an hour. But I didn't really time it so I'm not sure how long it takes exactly. At night these lights are extremely bright I mostly use the low setting for the flashlight. I like the mounts that came with this combo light set. The only thing that I don't like is how its kind of hard to dismount the flashlight when I am rushing off to somewhere. Other than that these lights are really dependable and well built. I often pass by sprinklers at night and these lights can take a light sprinkle. I assume that they are water resistant to some extent. These lights illuminate well enough for drivers to see me at night and I feel much safer having them. I also took the flashlight with me on a hiking trip recently up a mountain to watch fireworks during the 4th of July. This light really came in handy when I had to hike back down the mountain. During the day it wasn't problem but at night its completely different, much more horrifying and dangerous. As I was heading down the mountain I took out the flashlight and turned it on to its brightest setting. This flashlight created an encompassing glow that was able to light a good 20-30 feet ahead of me. The light was so bright that I was able to see the dust particles flying up in the air front of me as I was hiking down the mountain. Other hikers were carrying much bigger flashlights that appeared to be name brand flashlights like maglite. Even at their highest setting with their flashlights combined their output couldn't match the flashlight that I was using. Which was lighter and nearly 1/5 the size.Read more ›

Having a flashing headlight on your bike is nothing short of amazing in terms of the road manners of most people
driving cars and my visibility on a bike.

After I fully charged the duo, I mounted them and went for a ride.

While doing barely 1 mph on my bike and fiddling with my pedals to make sure I was ready for another sprint, I arrived
at a T junction where a girl stopped her car at the junction; She was waiting for me to pass by. It was only when
I looked up and realized that she was still watching and waiting well over 15 seconds for someone who was 30 ft away from her,
and barely moving, did I realize the effectiveness of the "day lightening" mode. And I called out to say, "go ahead."

After I got going, I caught up with her fairly quickly as this was winding, coastal road with a 25 mph limit and humpback whales
breaching the azure waters not more than 100 yards off the coast. Therefore she wasn't flying down the road and I got up to speed in no time.

I got to her bumper and was to her right, after a block of riding in that area and realizing her unwillingness (or inability to see me)
to give me space, I rode out towards the center of the road so that she would see me - sure enough, it worked and she pulled to the
left, giving me a wide berth and let me pass unhindered - to continue trying to beat my personal record for another segment on my Strava App.

I think this is a fantastic purchase! The brightness is more than enough and maybe when I take my cross bike off road, I may need another
light, in which case I might upgrade to the metro 500 or an expillion or just get another metro 360...TBD.
