I am a dog lover and dog mom! I am owned by 2 cavalier king charles spaniels, 1 golden retriever and 2 yellow labs. My mother stays summers with me she has 2 cavaliers also. 7 dogs in all. I have all sizes and coat types represented. This product is fantastic! I was hesitant because of the first review, but decided to try it anyway, (can always send it back,right?) Boy am I glad I went with it. This dryer comes out of the box ready to go to work! I washed all 7 dogs while my mom dried. The dryer has a 3 foot hose coming out of the box, yes BUT, when you turn the dryer on the hose extends to 6 feet by itself. Also, it has a cord which is just over six feet as well. No reason to have unit right next to your animal while drying. I used it outside and hung the unit on the door using the included shoulder strap. How handy is that!?! My Golder retriever was over due for grooming and the dryer really helped get all the shedding fur! It was amazing. All four little dogs were dry extremely fast and none were bothered by the noise from this dryer. Yes, it is loud but no louder that your own blowdryer. Also, this blows out the air at the perfect temp! Not to hot, just slightly warm so as not to overheat your dog. It also came with mounting hooks for the wall and two types of nozzle heads.Highly recomend this dryer and it is affordable. It pays for itself in 2 groomings!

I tried it on my two Coton de Tulear dogs. The younger one didn't seem to mind it too much. The older one was reliving vacuum nightmares :)
and fought and fought to get loose and run away. The blow-dryer sounds like a loud vacuum cleaner. The warm air is very pleasant and beats a human hair dryer hands down.
I wish the dryer came with a super long hose so it could be coiled around a door in another room, so the sound would not be so intense.
Maybe a well padded/carpeted room makes a difference too versus a hollow sounding/hard floored bathroom, the way sound carries.
All in all I am satisfied with this product but maybe the manufacturer could improve on future models the decibel level and tone it down quite a bit, especially when it concerns the very sensitive hearing and vacuum phobia of dogs.
Update: both dogs are used to the blow-dryer now, the older dog still doesn't like it but tolerates it. The younger one by 6 mo. sits quietly and enjoys the warm air. Also I use an old small mouth vacuum attachment and this works wonderful since the one that came with the blower has been chewed by the dogs (revenge :D)

The Metro Air Force Quick Dry Pet Dryer is one of those items which should never be offered for sale at all. The noise level from this dryer is horrible. It is not only very loud, but also high pitched. I suspect that even humans should wear ear protection when using it. I can't imagine what it must be doing to a dog's sensitive hearing. I unpacked mine and turned it on for only a few seconds. My dog cleared the floor by an impressive amount and ran out of the room in horror. I think he showed excellent judgment. It would be nothing short of cruel to actually use it to dry him. I packed it right back up and returned it to the seller. So do not buy this item if you love your dog or value your own hearing. To all of you pet suppliers out there, you should be ashamed for offering this item for sale. Do you not make any effort at all to evaluate the products you sell before offering them to others?
