5.0 out of 5 stars Great game you should buy this May 21, 2013

I loved the first metro and waited with anticipation for the sequel to be released.
Needless to say I was not dissapointed.

The graphics of this game are fantastic, I only wish that I had a better computer so I could run it on it's highest settings. As is my computer crashes occasionally while playing as my computer apparently doesn't get enough air, so it overheats after playing for a while. So there is a big draw on your system when you play this game. But it also has far better graphics than any other game I own.

The gameplay is fairly linerar, but that seems to be the case with most all fps single player campaigns these days. The action is intense, and sneaking around is incredibly rewarding. The animations are quite smooth, but there are a few places where the animation clips a little bit.

I probably should have started playing the game on ranger difficulty, but decided to play ranger hardcore right from the begining. So when they give you that warning saying that no tips will pop up to prompt you while your playing they mean it. In ranger hardcore not only do you dish out and recieve more damage, but there is no hud of any kind, no inventory, and no way of knowing just how many bullets you have left. The only indication that you're gonna get about possibly running out of ammo is when your character inserts only a partial mag into the gun. Then you know your in trouble.

As strange as this is going to sound I was actually kind of dissapointed that they increased the reload speed, as I loved how the slow reload speed of the first metro was realistic, time wise. Another thing that kinda makes me sad was that in the first metro you could always see the mag of the weapons and had an idea of how much ammo you had left.

i feel like this game could have allowed you to roam more, loot more and be more open world, this game is beautiful but it sucks that you cant bask and explore an area more.

everything about this game screams open world gameplay, i understand it was a small studio working on this game under horrible conditions and either way they came out with a great game,

but i still hope one day they make a game as great as this is but open world

5.0 out of 5 stars A great sequel! July 8, 2013

I played Metro: 2033 and it's still one of my favorite games. I was really looking forward to Metro: Last light and I can definitely say it was amazing! 4A & THQ did a great job crafting the story and it almost seemed it was the originals authors writing.

You need to play this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game but short. May 27, 2013

You can easily dominate this game in a weekend, but the game play is nice more weapons and upgrades over the last game. The ending is less that what i was expecting. overall though a good game. Good characters and they managed to have more facial diversity in this one over the first.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is amazing! May 23, 2013

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought a game code for this game on Ebay, but I thought I'd leave a positive review for it here as well.. This is one of the best FPS games I've ever played bar none. The graphics, the atmosphere, the storyline.....EVERYTHING is in order.

Sure it's linear, but considering the story and the fact that you spend most of your time in a subterranean environment, that can be forgiven. If you have a high end rig, this game will nearly rival Crysis 3 in it's beauty. One area where it does exceed Crysis 3 though, is in the physics department.....or specifically, PhysX.

The PhysX implementation in Metro Last Light is perhaps the best of any game to date, including Batman Arkham City. Getting into a fire fight with Advanced PhysX turned on and seeing all the debris, sparks, grenade flak, smoke etcetera is just incredible! The game also makes great use of DX11 tessellation, in the environment, characters and monsters.

And OMG, the monsters are so damn creepy! There are these spider-bug creatures, and they are the UGLIEST looking things you've ever seen. I got goose bumps whenever I had to enter or pass through their lair.

My rating is an easy 9/10, with one point deducted for minor technical issues..

5.0 out of 5 stars Best atmosphere in any video game to date May 17, 2013
Platform for Display:PC
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The thing that really stood out to me about this game is it's atmosphere. The level creators went to painstaking detail to make this a believable world. Things you'll encounter are dusty, cramped corridors, spider lairs where webs are everywhere and they slow you down, little spiders can be seen on the webs scurrying to the ceiling as you approach and the bigger spiders are horrifying (don't play this game if you have arachnophobia), makeshift "villages" in the metro tunnels filled with people who carry on conversations about their lives and I'm not just talking a sentence or two, you can stop and listen sometimes for several minutes to a conversation. A theater, a strip club (complete with full upper nudity and the probably the most realistic looking boobs yet in a game), sewers, tunnels, catacombs, the list goes on and that's just what's underground.

What's above ground looks possibly even more impressive. The cities that were wiped out by the nuclear holocaust look just like you would imagine they would. Corroded husks of old buses, airplanes and cars carry the skeletons of the poor souls caught in the blast, the vegetation looks great, the terrain feels natural. And the most impressive thing was the weather. This game has bar-none the best weather effects of any video game yet. You really feel like you are in a raging storm with the way the wind whips the rain and actually makes you feel somewhat off balance and alters your aim as well. Lightning illuminates the dark sky as you hear the deep moan of some distant beast. Water and mud spatter the lens of your gas mask and you have to wipe it off so you can see where you're going. You can really tell they wanted the entire world of this game to feel grimy, disheveled and war-torn and they pulled it off perfectly.
