Product Description

From the Manufacturer

It is the year 2034.Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour. 5.0 out of 5 stars Better than its predecessor! May 13, 2013
UPDATE: There's a new patch that was released which fixes FOV and performance improvement on AMD hardware. It seems that the game is much more smoother now and I get 10+ extra fps now. So I guess it wasn't an issue with the AMD's GPUs but it was the game itself causing the low fps. I just finished beating the game and it took around 8hrs or so on hard-mode which was totally worth it. Read my review if you want to know why I recommend playing the game on hard-mode. If you guys have any specific questions about the game then just leave me a comment and I will reply as soon as possible. If you guys want customize the FOV then do this:

After starting the game up, the user.cfg will be updated with the r_base_fov attribute. You can find this in %LOCALAPPDATA%\4A Games\Metro LL\. Don't change the FOV to a really high value because it can causes random crashes and character models to look awkward.

I am a huge fan of Metro 2033 and Last Light is even better in my opinion. I haven't finished the story yet but so far it has been awesome. These are some of the things that I have noticed so far from playing the game.

If you were a fan of the atmospheric underground parts in Metro 2033 then you will love this game even more. The character models and animations are unbelievably good. The textures look great and the lighting/graphical effects are amazing. The textures in this game are crazy good and if you stare very close to the objects, you can see all the tiny details and they are not blurry like in most games that you see today. You need a pretty strong computer to run the game and make sure to wait for the beta drivers from both AMD and Nvidia to play the game.

Perfect sequel to Metro 2033. Story and gameplay are addicting and graphics are just beautiful. Good for even 30 bucks. Play 2033 first though!

I am really not one for linear games and like open world type games but this game is an exception to that rule. What this game lacks in open world choices, it makes up for with a great story and an environment that is top notch.

Its very, very rare that I play a game these days and feel any human emotion. Most games have crappy stories and its just fun to run around racking up the kills instead of feeling the game. Not this one. When I heard and saw the child shadow running around crying for his mother....... I was sad. When the woman in the brothel gave a lap dance... I was aroused. I don't know how else to describe it other than this game has soul. Its like reading a good novel.

The game did have some graphical glitches and froze a few times. Most of these problems were solved with a game update and the game ran much, much better after the update on my AMD graphics card. The AI can be kind of dumb and the main battles felt weak, but other than that this is a solid game.

I have never played a video game that made me feel human emotions like this one nor have I played one in a long time with a deep story line that draws you in. I want to give this game 5 stars but because of the few problems and linear feel I will give it a solid 4 stars.

The makers of fallout should get together with the company that makes this game. The atmosphere and story of Metro combine with the openness and gameplay of Fallout........ would be the ultimate game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unique world design December 8, 2013

I want to give this game five stars for how unique the Metro environment feels. Three things detract from the overall experience.

- Engine can feel janky at times.
- Fights are never just challenging. They're either mind numbingly easy or insanely hard.
- The entire story is like a Metro....it's on rails. Some of the scripted scenes are written 3 times longer than they should be and become boring.

This game started off strong and never stopped. The Graphics and gameplay are the best looking and most responsive that I have ever seen and played. But what really takes the cake is the games incredible atmosphere, this game felt real, the shadows and lighting are the best out there and the smoke and other particle effects just make you say "wow" a lot. I play a lot of violent video games, but this games physics make the violence so realistic and brutal sometimes that I didn't want to kill things sometimes. Metro Last Light knows this and allows you the option to play stealthily and not take an offensive approach. Which is also a good idea many times because the game can be a difficult and scary one.The most heart-pounding moment I have ever had in a game was an outdoor level in metro last light. It is almost night time, and I need to follow these flags on a stick to make my way through a swamp, im sneaking around and being sure to carefully avoid the deadly creatures lurking below the murky depths, when all of a sudden I accidentally walk onto a can and kick it, next thing I know I am running for my life wading through the swamp trying to avoid the tentacles that want to pull me under while an army of mutant creatures chases the sound of the clanging from earlier. Metro last light has many moments like this. This game is worth full price and I wish I could play it for the first time again. This game is one of only 3 games to get a 5 star or 10/10 rating from me. This game is one of the best I have ever experienced. And that is what it is, not a game, but an experience.

3.0 out of 5 stars It isn't just the game
You have to have STEAM to play the game. Just like Origin it makes the games run laggy and bogs down the pc. I should have read a little more I would have skipped it.
