So, let's get right to the point: this is a demanding game. If you have the hardware, it is the best-looking game on the market, in spite of requiring less hardware than competing titles (Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, etc.).

My computational hardware (what matters with gaming performance):

2500K @ 4.5 GHz
670 SLI @ 1200 MHz (=680 SLI at stock speeds = 6 TFLOPS = 5x XBOX One = 3.3X PS4)

Benchmarks:

1080p/SSAA off/very high quality and tessellation/PhysX on: 57 fps
1080p/SSAA off/very high quality and tessellation/PhysX off: 65 fps
1080p/SSAA off/very high quality and tessellation/PhysX on/Single GPU (SLI disabled): 47 fps (indicating that the benchmark is heavily CPU-limited)
1080p/SSAA off/low quality/tessellation off/PhysX off: 92 fps (entirely CPU-limited, even in single-GPU mode)

Basically, then, running this game on a cheap laptop, at any resolution or level of settings (see Nvidia's performance guide for a breakdown of the game's settings and what they affect), is probably unlikely. Based on the above benchmarks, you will need a very decent quad-core CPU, even on lowest settings, if you want frame rates at 60 or higher. Ultimately, without SSAA (which is extremely GPU-demanding), one 680 or 770 is sufficient for "very high" settings at 50-60 fps (you'll need a 780 - 780 Ti for 60 "minimum;" in spite of the benchmark, I can't recall falling below 60 for any length of time using the two 680-equivalent 670s, though this game is one of the very few I own where SLI does introduce visible "microstutter" from time to time).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game with amazing graphics September 7, 2014
Metro: Last Light is a single-player first-person shooter video game with survival horror and stealth elements incorporated into it. The game was developed by Ukrainian studio 4A Games. This game is the second Metro game, the first installment, Metro 2033 was incredible. Metro: Last Light is also great but a little weaker than the first game. But with that said this game is above most of today's games in its strength of story and outstanding graphics. The game really embeds you in its world which is an underground subway system.

I really enjoyed this game and would definitely recommend it to others.

Thank you for reading my review.

Game's okay. Ranger Mode Hardcore is terrible though, considering it basically requires you to play through the game once on an easier mode to even understand what's going on. Ranger Hardcore removes any hud so it's impossible to select your throwable weapons by any means other than guessing and hoping you scrolled your mouse to the right item. Also it doesn't give you any notification for ****ing QTEs so you'll be stuck dying on those too.

Not too challenging, way too focused on gunplay and not enough on stealth and survival. Get it on a discount at best

It's game play is purely linear and the graphics are hardware demanding, particularly with modest amounts of system memory. Make sure you have a good sized page file because even with 16 gigs of ddr3 memory and no page file this game's video stuttered on my pc. Once I set a page file the game ran smooth as glass. It's not a new release but it does have merit, a very well written first person shooter. If it had ten stars I would give it a nine.

The best game I've played since first playing the original Half-Life back in 1999. Super graphics and gameplay.

Pick up the complete edition to get all the bonus stuff, levels, maps, play as the other characters.

About to do my second run through! Haven't played a game back to back like this since HL1.

Game is a lot of fun, didn't run well on my (crappy) Macbook Pro Early 2011 13". Guess I gotta wait to finish my PC.
