I had the smaller unit and it performed fantastic but this one with double the power blows it out of the water. I use it to dry my autos and no longer use broom in the garage but just blow it out with this blower. I love it!!

GREAT VERSATILE TOOL!,

First off the construction of the unit is fantastic. The hose is stiff but it's made to take abuse. It's not hard to use because of it. I had no problem with wiring issues as stated by another reviewer. It works just fine even with other things on that breaker on. Curious on when their house was built. Copper/aluminum wiring, etc. UL Certified doesn't mean much, they are just interested in taking money, just like the API oil 'stamps', etc. To me he best part about owning this tool is it can be used for a lot of things. I don't just use it to dry my cars, bikes, jet skis, etc but I can use it on pets, computer cases, anything dusty / dirty, etc. Cleaning out the inside of the Dyson container is a breeze and works amazing.

Had a smaller blower and it didn't do the job at all. This thing really blows the water off in a hurry. Use it on my motorcycle which has a lot of difficult areas to dry. This does a terrific job. No more water blowing off in my face going down the road after washing.

Bought this recently to dry two black vehicles. It dries about 85%, with one final pass necessary with a drying cloth. I never let any completely dry cloth touch my paint, so I usually moisten it with a quick detailer which is not a problem for me and adds shine in the process. It is very helpful for drying wheels and crevices in the side mirrors, gas cap area, etc.
The wheels could definitely use improvement...as the do not rotate. The way it is designed might work great for a motorcyle...which is what it was intended for originally. But with a car which requires a lot more room to move and maneuvering back and forth...you have to pull the hose and drag the unit / wheels to make turns. I mentioned this to the owner of the company, and he said car dealerships that use it for much higher volume work than me do not have a problem with it. At the moment this company has no real competition...it's just a matter of time before we see more options from other companies with enhanced bells and whistles, and hopefully a lower price. At over $300...I feel it should have at least included a free car vacuum. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with it overall, as it is preferable to fully drying by cloth which I believe also removed wax in the process. So it definitely keeps my car looking shiny and protected longer in my opinion. Update: After probably 10 to 15 uses...it finally tripped my 15amp breaker...I will now have to plug it into a 20amp outlet / line...only hassle is that is on the garage ceiling...and is used for the garage door opener. The owner of metrovac said that on newer homes there would be no problem using it in a 15amp circuit, which is not the case. I'll have to break out the ladder each time I want to use it to plug into the ceiling outlet.

Upon receiving the Metro Vacuum Master Blaster, I immediatly proceeded to wash my vehicles. The air pressure was excellent on either setting and the warm air pressure ensured a "streak free" ultimate shine!!! I would recommend this to any car buff who regularily cares for your vehicles, absolutly no towels required.

In short...it works. But be prepared. As mentioned before, the hose is unusually stiff but seems like it will take a beating. Just be sure you have a good grip on the nozzle when you fire this thing up otherwise you'll be chasing the end as it flops all over the place. This thing puts out that much air. Also, be prepared to upgrade your house wiring. My first clue was when I saw the thickness of its power cord. Impressive. However, it kept blowing out 15 amp circuit breakers when both motors were running. Running one motor didn't present any issues. I was able to easily upgrade one socket in my garage to a 20 amp circuit breaker and plug and have since had no issues running both motors at once. Now I think I understand why this beast is not UL certified...buyer beware.
If you have OCD, a black car, any sort of motorcycle, or an unusually strong desire to blow water out of every nook and cranny, this just may be the thing for you. If you thought it would save you time...reconsider; especially if you have OCD, a black car, any sort of motorcycle, or an unusually strong desire to blow water out of every nook and cranny. |
