I never got play the first two games and Metroid to me is one of those games that if you want to collect everything the guide is important instead of walking around for hours on end trying to figure it out. You could always use youtube but it's quite annoying to go to the internet all the time and back to the game. I'm playing through Metroid prime's first game. The guide is pretty good but it is a little vague. You also have to read clear which room you need to be in, sometimes it's not the most straight forward. Besides that it's not a waste and has helped all the way through.
They should have made this guide twice as big since I know Metroid Prime 3 has just as many pages as Metroid Prime Trilogy. Like the other reviewer said, the original guides I bet are better but you might be spending more money getting all the 3 guides and guides for the first two games will be hard to get. This will get the job done but yes it's on the vague side but not useless and will get you all the power ups in the game.

Ok, I need to say that I get every official strategy guide that is released with each game I buy. So I was able to compare this one with previous MP guides by Nintendo Power.
I REALLY MISS Nintendo Power doing their own guides..heres why. Prima seriously COPIED & PASTED every bit of information from the original NP guides and condensed them into one confusing guide. I know this because every pun, phrase, and ERROR can be found perfectly duplicated. If Nintendo didn't allow them to do this, then I could see a lawsuit but who knows? The MP3 section also copies the original Prima guide perfectly. Which was not very good to begin with anyway. You may ask about if the new content that was added to MPT is included in the book? Very little, they loosly cover MP1 and MP2 credits and what you can unlock with them. I know its not rocket science but this is why these books are created. If you want a good guide for each game I would seriously recommend finding the originals. They cover pictured steps as to where to go and are more in depth. Nintendo Power released a guide for MP1 and MP2. You are out of luck if you want an easy to use guide for MP3 since Prima bombed on that as well. For understanding of credits and how to unlock, check out gamefaqs.

The game I bought was to hard to play without some kind of "Instructions" of which it was not included. The game came out last year or two and I couldnot find a game guide any where especially from Nintendo. Lucky for me , I found one here and came at record time,Thanks. The book is pretty cool and it would have been no way in h*ll I could have made it thru the game without it!!!! It takes a little time to get use to the wording and instructions but it didn't take me long to get thru about 40% of the game. I also have a Prima guide for SuperMario Wii and have already finished it with Grandkids.Great Guide!!!!

The guide was a gift, along with the game. I now have ALL the power-ups, secrets, etc. for the games. This is a MUST-BUY for any Metroid Prime fan that wants to get the ending videos/get through the game without dying!

Its a decent guide...,

First off, I agree with most of the other reviewers: If you have the original guides for Metroid Prime 1, 2, & 3, then just use those. If you don't have the old guides, then this is a decent game guide to own. However, all of the information in this book is on the internet in some form or fashion. From text walkthroughs to YouTube video walkthroughs, its out there if you know where to look. I decided to get the book because my computer is in another room...I didn't want to travel from room to room whenever I got stuck on a part of the game. Also, the online text walkthroughs are okay, put they are dull to look at. So, I bought the book to be ready-at-hand and for the good game screen shots and the color graphics.
The only cons that I have, besides the occasional spelling/grammatical errors, are the lack of game art work and the condensed format which can be confusing if you aren't paying attention.

This strategy guide is terrible. Do yourself a favor and find any number of decent walkthroughs online. Everything in this guide is very vague and sometimes downright misleading. You will spend extra time looking for items that are not where the guide says they are or just simply wondering what the heck the author is playing because it doesn't appear that they are looking at what you are looking at. This guide got cussed, thrown, and had more frustration directed at it than the game itself. By buying this guide you will only succeed in making the games way more frustrating than they need to be.

So far this guide has been very helpful. It gives just enough information to help you figure out what to do without revealing too much. Though, it would be nice if it had maps mixed in with the walk through so that you don't have to constantly flip back and forth between the back and front of the guide.

Great book with accurate info, great pics and tells you everything you need to know. I screwed up and ordered this thinking it covered the gamecube versions but it is for Wii. So now I need to buy it for Wii. LOL

This book is quite handy! However, there was a scene where the book told me to do one thing but I never could beat the Omega Space Pirate. I look online and WOW - I found a tip there and went back to the game and beat that sucker on my next try. Goes to show you to always cross-reference. Happy gaming!
