I originally purchased the Houdini Wine Preserver Pump and Stopper Set from Target, and it came with two stoppers. Well, I found myself needing more than two stoppers so I purchased the Metrokane Vacuum Wine Stoppers, Set of 4. These are the same brand, Metrokane, as the Houdini stoppers. That wasn't very clear at first, but after a bit of research, I determined they were the same brand and interchangeable.

These work great, as did the original ones I bought from Target. I've never had one fail to hold a seal. I make sure that after each use, I rinse them in warm water so the ridges that seal stay soft. I've had a bottle of dessert wine in the fridge for months (don't know if its good anymore), but the seal has held.

I bought the Metrokane Houdini Wine Preserver which is a small pump that uses these stoppers. The set has two. It's amazing how nice it is to open wine, NOT feel like 'that one' and then not HAVE to drink it because today's inexpensive wines turn ugly too quickly.

Just place in one of these stoppers, pump a few times and the wine's good for (so far) up to 9 days. It's like we've never opened the bottle.

I have now bought five sets...two for us, and three as gifts (along with the Preserver Pump)...worth every single penny!

Although these are called wine stoppers, a better name would be vacuum seals. We have enjoyed dining with wine daily for years, but we were discouraged there wasn't a way to preserve leftover wine. The vacuum pump and "seals" are a great way to truly preserve leftover wine for a few days without disappointment! The seals (and pump) last for a few years.

Bought these as a gift to go along with the rabbit vaccum stopper, I bought them b/c a friend told me that this type of stopper looses its sealing ability over time, I have another brand of similar device and have not experienced the stoppers going "bad", anyway it is nice to be able to open/seal a few different bottles at once, especially for a party where people may want to drink different wines

This stopper works with the metrokane vacuum pump. I have had the original unit for a year now and recently added these stoppers to increase the number of open containers I can have.

The unit functions by using the metrokane pump to suck air out of the top. It removes most of air, which makes it pretty good at preserving your adult beverages.

My one complaint is that if you are attempting to preserve bubbly beverages it has two faults. First, it sucks a bunch of the CO2 out of the drink. Second, over not very long with bubbly beverages the pressure equalizes enough that it doesn't really work like it is suppose to and loses suction.

Product shipped quickly and was exactly what I was looking for. I had worn out the stoppers that came with the original vacuum sealer!

My metrokane set came with just two stoppers and I lost one so this was perfect. I love these stoppers. My wine stays fresh longer and now I can save more than one bottle of wine at a time.

While I do think these aren't quite so useful for long-term storage, and the seals aren't always air-right, I do find them VERY useful for day-or-two storage, and to keep bottles 'covered'. i'm on my second set, as people either seem to walk away with these at parties, or they get 'lost in the shuffle' and are thrown out, but they fit just about any kind of bottle, they do what they say they'll do, and I find them very useful.

If you're REALLY picky about having an air-tight long-term seal, you MAY want to try something a bit different, as these aren't really meant for long-term storage, and the seals wear down over time, it would seem (or so i've noticed on my sets). But if you follow the instructions for use, you will have a very good run of use on these.

This product works very well. We inserted the first one into a chocolate port about a month and a half ago, and it has still held the vaccuum. Works great!

Great product for short time periods. Sometimes the seal does not work but I think it is a user problem. I have seen this product at Safeway now as well. I lost both of my original stoppers and had to order these, now I have both of those back for a total of six. Will be great to have all six for a party and have all pre-opened. I would not recommend leaving wine longer than five days refrigerated.
