The last train of the evening pulls into the underground Baker Street station. In a second-class carriage, a young woman's body is found strangled-the work of the vicious "Railway Murderer." Inspector Decimus Webb is called in to investigate. His search for the killer will lead him through the slums of Victorian London to the Holborn Refuge, a home for "fallen women," and servant girl Clara White. Clara could be the key to the case, but she has secrets of her own.
