Wonderful History/Art Book for Kids,
By
This review is from: Metropolitan Museum of Art: Book of Masks (Hardcover)
Almost all children's books are overpriced, IMHO. However, this neat book is not a dud! There are FIVE masks with history of the country and time of the mask, color photos of artifacts from the era, AND the child can slip the mask out of its holder and wear it. Each mask has an elastic "string" attached for holding the mask on. Then just slip the mask back in the book and it becomes a pop-up again. Featured: Colombia, New Guinea, Nigeria, Europe (Knight's mask), and Feudal Japan. Neat!

This is a pop-up book with just 4 two page spreads. Not much for the price. This is not an art book, it is an overpriced childrens book.
