We love the calendar!!! My wife is a big opera fan and loves to try to guess the opera on each months page---I turn the calendar to the new month for her and she guesses the opera that is portrayed. Most of the time she is right on.The calendar also has lots of historical information about the singer, dates, when, where and what opera they sang, etc. If you are an opera fan it's the greatiest!! Thank Amazon for the good price too Jerry

I guess that Maestro Levine's 40th anniversary leading the Met Orchestra warranted the theme of this calendar, so I can't complain. But personally, I had hoped for a calendar similar to those of recent past years that featured vibrant photography of current season Met productions. Anyway, the calendar will serve its purpose, and it does give good tribute to Maestro Levine's long and illustrious tenure.

MET. OPERA CALENDAR A DISAPPOINTMENT,

As a fan of the Metropolitan Opera for 39 years now, I find the 2010 Metropolitan Opera Wall Calendar a big disappointment. For some reason, the Met. has chosen to remove all birthdays--and birth dates--of opera stars from the calendar. It now lists only famous debuts and anniversaries of famous performances on the calendar. While the photographs for each month are still spectacular and well-chosen, the omission of birthdays is a glaring drawback. There are now many dates where nothing appears at all.

As in 2008, I got this calendar as a Christmas gift for my nephew, who is big into opera. As before, it's a very good quality calendar and has beautiful pictures and he was pleased. However, I still wish someone would come out with a page-a-day version, with lots of trivia, facts, etc.
