CodeWarrior for Mac OS offers an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that includes a fully object-oriented application development framework called PowerPlant. It allows you to develop reliable, professional-quality applications that execute on Classic Mac OS or OS X. You can also cross-develop from your Macintosh host and target applications that execute on a Microsoft Win32 system. CodeWarrior's project manager and build system, code browser, and code navigation system allow you to write solid code and speed your compile-build-debug cycles from one environment that supports C, C++, and Java development.

You will be able to speed your time to market by creating, compiling, linking, assembling, and debugging within a single Integrated Development Environment. Use Metrowerks' tightly integrated tools to speed your development time, or "plug-in" familiar third-party editors, compilers, and debuggers. CodeWarrior Professional provides tight conformance to the current ANSI/ISO C++ standard. The IDE offers increased extensibility and customization options. These include importing/exporting project and target settings in XML format, and customization of many of the CodeWarrior IDE user interface elements, with full support for COM Automation APIs.

If you need to develop Macintosh applications or games, this is the tool to get. If you are new to CW or to programming, I would suggest the Learning Edition. It has many tutorials and electronic books to get you started. An additional benefit to using CW is that most of the Macintosh source code at sites like iDevGames.com are in CW format, so working/compiling them will be less painfull than other tools.
