More than a book to read, it is meant for serious study!,
By Jmip (NYC, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
I first read this book back in 1993. I have studied with the Ausar/Auset society in both Washington DC and Brooklyn, NY where Ra Un Nefer Amen actually teaches. First, the man is a Sage in our time. Humble, well-read and VERY DEEP! I have read all the comments regarding this Volume. Most are very complimentary, and rightly so, some others seemingly didn't get it! "To each their own." If you have an interest in spirituality, esoteric studies, meditation or similar subjects, I highly recommend this book, as well as, volume II, Maat the 11 laws of God, The Tree Of Life Meditation (TOLM) as well as, anything else you can find. Some folks just study and write about spiritual subjects, yet they don't LIVE it! The Ausar/Auset Society is REAL and they practice what they preach! (pardon the pun)What one is looking at in Metu Neter Vol. I is an introduction to the holistic spiritual teachings of the Kemetic Religious System. One can read this book, but to truly understand it, one needs to put into practice its teachings. For many, this will be very difficult, however, if you are so inclined, you will be amazed and pleased! Having studied with nearly every group or society one can name, as well as, studying religion and having a Masters in Transformational Psychology, very few things that I have studied possess the wisdom and truth of these volumes. There are also accompanying Oracle cards, and classes are held so one can learn the Metu Neter Divination system. I have used the Metu Neter in combination with the IChing and Runes. I have performed over 1000 various readings for myself and others. I don't really know what to say other than each and every time the oracles were in agreement and CORRECT! NO, I am not talking about me trying to interpret them in a manner to prove a point, I am talking about REAL WISDOM, not KNOWLEDGE, but WISDOM. (as one knows, there is a big difference) ALso, if you have an interest in the IChing, I recommend (if you can find it) his book, IChing, the Harlem River Arrangements. Very expensive, but indispensable!

This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
Suggestion: Buy this book (and every book by this author) now and share it with everyone who has ever had a question about the civilization called Egypt or Africa's legacy in general. To date we had merely been given pieces of an enormous jigsaw puzzle that made it impossible to truly understand or practice that which made Egypt the "light of the world". Careful and exhaustive study will reveal that there is nothing like it currently available.
Upon hearing of this book and its contents I could only be skeptical in the face of statements like "goes beyond anything I have ever read" and "puts Cheikh Anta Diop under the table". However, not since the Autobiography of Malcolm X, did a book leave me so speechless, hold me so spellbound and actually move me to tears. This is the first book that I have ever read, after having read, Budge, Breasted, Karenga, Schwaller de Lubicz and others, that allowed me to see why Ancient Egyptian civilization is the most studied and influential civilization in recorded history. This may be the first book which fully begins to explain the true relevance of The Nile Valley and its relationship to psychology, anthropology, history, religion, spirituality, culture, science and the link to African/ Black civilizations. Also explained is the system which enabled the Blacks of Egypt were able to forge so far ahead of others and create the greatest feats and corpus of wisdom known to Man. ALthough it is well known by scholars that Egypt gave the world its first religious system, no other work has ever presented this to the public until now. It will no doubt take 25-100 years for those who are truly seeking a spiritual revolution and means of changing our lives, to realize that the release of this work represents a turning point in human history. Amen, among those in the know, is without question an extraordinary force of Nature. Take it from someone who lives in libaries and bookstores Metu Neter I is one of the greatest books ever written and by far the most important literary work of my life. Unbelievable.

Aetheists & The Religious are subsets of the whole.,

This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
This book has tremendously changed my life. I am now at a point in my life where I'm able to be One with Nature, with God. I feel very compassionate towards those who don't get it. Like the atheist who only sees themselves and like the religious who only sees their perception of God. They either see dark or light, never in between. Never peace, which IS our essential nature. This knowledge has not been taught in the churches & classrooms in our society, which is probably the reason why there is so much confusion and disillusionment and many wars on the subject. They truly don't understand what it is to be at peace. Although life will always have it's challenges, I am free. Free. Not too many people understand what that means or how it feels. Reading this book has guided me to myself to God and I am eternally grateful to the Most High as well as the author of this book. God is Everything & Nothing at the same Time, therefore the atheist & religious are half right. Imagine if they saw both of these truths as being One. Imagine if the can balance both hemispheres to zero. The world would be another place indeed.

The Full Understanding of The Tree of Life!!!!!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
This book has given the meaning of life, as well as the propose for life. No matter what your religious beliefs are, the Metu Neter is a "science," through which all sciences can be comprehended and manipulated. I first read this book in 1992, and it has changed my life forever. I was in search of the "one truth" that is at the core of all religions, and it was found in the Metu Neter. Simply Empowering. Man/Woman Know Thyself (Remember Maat),
This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
This book is a must read for all. The Ancients knew what we've choosen to forget. Subtle truths are revealed in a way that cannot be ignored. I initially read both Volumes in 1992, and my spiritual life changed. Everyone has a spiritual challenge before them, one that requires you to know yourself better, and one which helps to you gain a better understanding of the world we live in. By seeking oneness with your Creator, you make a lifetime commitment that brings you "Peace of Mind." When you choose to believe as you've always believed, chances are your life has followed a similiar pattern as your immediate and deceased relatives. In order to know the truth, you must first ask questions which require you to perform some type of research. The Truth is that which stands when all else has fallen. Let your "spirit" be the your guide/judge. These volumes speak to the "Inner Spirit." I hope and pray that all who choose to read them will find an "Inner Peace and Oneness" you've never known, yet longed for. May the day come when we return to the Oneness we once had.

By Khalfani Mothudi "Ankhner" (Brooklyn, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
If you want to communicate with God (Neter) and the Ancestors, if you want to know what to do and how to do it according to God's plan... The Metu Neter opens the way to creating a framework for your life based on the revealing of an organized structure for categorizing the world around us. Using the Kamitic mandala, the Tree Of Life, to allow you to categorize/organize all of your life's events/creations into a system that shows the interrelationships between all of existence. It is in part the science of how to control the mind, how to cultivate understanding, how to cultivate the Spirit on its many levels and more.
There is an African maxim which basically states that each area of life should be in harmony with all other areas of life. An example is pollution. You would not be permitted to create a product that would poison the environment; it goes against wholistic logic. This system provides you the structure to organize your logic in this way through Cosmologics/Cosmogony/Mandala. The Tree Of Life as an image sums up thousands of years of cross-disciplinary research by the Priesthood of Kamit. Propagated by the ignorant and by deceivers is the falsehood that there were rival belief systems in Kamit. Like any subject, God was metaphorically broken into component parts and priests/priestesses (specialists) in that particular area developed who study these aspects in depth. For your medical theories to be integrated with your family with your religion with your social life with your government with your business your warfare with your economics with with your legal theories... requires holistic right-brained thinking ALONG WITH lots of people to do the research necessary to confirm these relationships and put into practice living these relationships. Ultimately, the draw for me when I initially read THE BOOK was that it is scientific in its approach to God/religion. It's not 'faith' based or dogma. The same way in mathematics/hard sciences that you follow a set of instructions and get reproducible results is the same way that the Kamitic religion was made. This book details part of the Kamitic system for understanding God and creation. Eventually each individual person must have direct experience of God/ with God without intervening authorities. This has far reaching implications.....

A powerful tool for self enlightenment.,
By D. Bell (NC United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
This book is a well needed eye opener for all those whose never settle for the "just because" statement as to why religion is what it is today. This book allowed me to get ever closer to the truths that are out there concerning core (untainted) religion, to dissolve the walls of falsehoods surrounding us as seekers of the Supreme Being, is he within us, are we manifested as Him? I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and everyone simply because it denotes that there are alternative ways of thinking, ways other than those enforced upon us by our most recent predecestors.

The ancient philosophies of the our African ancestors have once again come to shine the light and extinguish the imbalances of the soul. All Africans around the world must, must, must read this book to understand the true power they posses. It is this power of the spirit that our ancestors spread around the world with the hopes of giving explanations of what life is. This author is an important messenger for our gods everywhere. Hotep!

This review is from: Metu Neter, Vol. 1: The Great Oracle of Tehuti and the Egyptian System of Spiritual Cultivation (Paperback)
Long before I read this book, after 24 years of studying Western Occult traditions that I traced back to ancient civilizations - I had already put together that all that material was ripped off from Ancient Egypt (and other ancient cultures). I was also already aware that the Ancient Egyptians were black. So to read this book was simply a validation of what I'd already discovered.
The author explains things quite well, and in a concise, well thought manner. My only criticism is that if you're white- you will really have to get past the Author's frustration (albeit rightly so) with Western Culture, Revisionist History, Racism, and the Atrocities of the White Man. Because if you're caucasion - this book could easily offend you because often the author seems to be working on the assumption that *all* white folks are just a bunch of thieving, war-mongering crackers who don't get it. Some of us aren't (otherwise we wouldn't be reading his book I would suppose). It does start getting annoying though - especially since I agreed with him that the people of the great ancient civilizations were black (it was like he was preaching to the choir). Evidently that makes me a black woman in a white woman's body? However, if you can look past that - the Author does treat the reader with respect (regardless color or creed) and he really makes some great points and explains Egyptian and Canaanite philosophy and pantheism in a way that it's very simple to understand - yet quite revealing. And since the Egyptian and Canaanite philosophies and ways of life (i.e. religion) were the forefathers to Western Occultism and the three great pillars of magick, it's nice to go back to the source and really dig in. Anyone who practices the Western Occult tradition, IMO, and doesn't pick up this book (or doesn't get it as some of the previous reviewers) will likely never get it. As a priest friend of mine once said - mythology is simply the priest's way of explaining difficult concepts to laymen. So many people just don't get that. All the "Hermetic" principles are there - but there's more to it than the Western Schools of Occult thought have given us. Western Culture has modified and seperated things that should have never been modified or seperated, and author Amen really gives a non-Western (and refreshing) look at how people can learn to live more balanced, spiritual, fulfilling, powerful lives by applying the philosophies presented, into our way of life - integrating the numerous parts of our being and tapping into the divine self and the divinity of all that is. I'm not saying this book is the beginning and end all to Khemeticism or that the student should stop seeking. I'm simply saying this book contains some wisdom that has touched me deeply and has validated some of my own research, belief and study. In my humble opinion it's required reading for any serious student of the occult. |
