This product was not properly described.,
This review is from: Mexican Vanilla Blend By Molina Vainilla, 16.8 Oz (Vanillin Extract) (Misc.)
The product that I received is partly vanillin, an artificial vanilla. I expected to get PURE mexican vanilla. Naturally I was disappointed.

A good buy.,

My wife and I recently purchased a bottle while in SW Texas. We grew both grew up on real Mexican vanilla bought on trips across the border, and were glad to find something at least close to that here at a very reasonable price. The smell and flavor are far and away better than what you'll get at the typical spice dept. in your grocery store.
It is partially vanillin, but that should not have come as a surprise to anyone. It's clearly labeled such, even in the picture above. Even so, it's a good vanilla, even better at this price point.

Great Stuff,
This review is from: Mexican Vanilla Blend By Molina Vainilla, 16.8 Oz (Vanillin Extract) (Misc.)
Sure, it's not 100% pure vanilla extract. That's indicated quite clearly in the ingredients. Molina vanilla is made with a mixture of pure vanilla extract and synthetic vanillin. Personally I love its strong distinctive flavor, regardless of what percentage pure vanilla extract it is. For those who feel it's too strong, use half the amount listed in the recipe. I know a couple of people who do this when using Molina Vanilla. Again, I like the flavor, so I use the full amount called for in the recipe. This stuff has a great flavor that really kicks things up a notch.

Delicious and potent! (Do not use in making home made icrecream - vanillin is a natural agent that increases freezing temp),
This review is from: Mexican Vanilla Blend By Molina Vainilla, 16.8 Oz (Vanillin Extract) (Misc.)
I did not purchase this item on amazon, but have purchased several bottles at a local Mexican food market. It's flavor is phenomenal. I add vanilla to a lot more than calls for it and have used many different brands of vanilla, including ones bought across the border in Mexico. This is the best I've tasted thus far. Do not be frightened away by the "vanillin" content. Vanillin is natural and occurs during the fermentation process of the beans. It is not harmful. The Propylene Glycol in the vanilla increases the freezing temperature of whatever you are making - so if using this for home made icre cream, wait until the VERY end of the freezing process to add the vanilla. I paid just over $6 for a 33oz bottle at the Mexican super market. Google-maps it, you may have one near by. It is delicious vanilla and MUCH cheaper than it's competitors!

A friend brought me a large bottle back from his trip to Mexico. I threw out all the other store bought vanilla bottles I had. They do not compare to this one. It has a strong, rich flavor. I add to it everything I can. My chocolate chip cookies and french toast could not be complete without Molina Vanilla.

Much better than ordinary vanilla,
This review is from: Mexican Vanilla Blend By Molina Vainilla, 16.8 Oz (Vanillin Extract) (Misc.)
In response to those who say this is no different than typical artificial vanilla, Molina Vanilla actually contains both real Mexican vanilla and artificial vanillin. It's much different than the stuff you'd buy in the supermarket. If you don't believe me, do a side by side taste test. You'll immediately notice that the Molina vanilla is much more aromatic, with a fuller range of flavor. Personally I prefer Molina vanilla over both artificial vanilla and even the typical pure Madagascar vanilla. I would recommend it to anyone.

Vanillin is NOT artificial vanilla! Read up before you slam!,
This review is from: Mexican Vanilla Blend By Molina Vainilla, 16.8 Oz (Vanillin Extract) (Misc.)
This is amazing tasting vanilla and contrary to what others are saying it does not contain artificial vanilla. Vanillin is the crystalline substance that forms on the outside of the beans as they ferment. There is also an "artificial vanillin, but that is NOT what is contained here!. The following quote is from "The Joy of Baking": The beans are first plunged into hot water and then the 'drying' and 'sweating' process starts. The beans are dried in the sun during the day and then wrapped in the blankets at night so they can sweat. This process can last anywhere from 2 to 6 months until the beans become a very dark brown color and develop a white crystalline substance (or frost) on the outside of the bean, called vanillin. The vanillin is what gives the beans their wonderful flavor and aroma and these beans are prized.
[...] So PLEASE, disregard these other bad reviews and try this. It is a STEAL!

After you try Mexican Vanilla and for the price you will never go back to buying store bought vanilla - it's a rip off. This Bottle of Vanilla is wonderful and it will last you a very long time.

A friend brought this back for me from Mexico and now, I can't go back to anything else. I even bought a very large bottle of 100% pure vanilla extract after my bottle of Molina was gone and could not bear it, I dumped it down the sink. I don't even want to try anything else.

I have had a long affair with Molina Vanilla. Six years ago, while in Los Algodones, I bought a large bottle. I finally finished the bottle and ordered another but the new one was "the blend by Molina Vainillin." It does not seem as strong as the one without the "Vanillin." It is still a excellent product for the price.
