Thanks to goat milk my son doesn't have asthma. Two months ago he was having problems sleeping and eating. He would drink cow milk and in a half hour he would start to have what doctors call dry cough syndrome. He would cough nightly, have mucus in his nose, will cough out a heavy clear saliva when he coughs it out. First they stated he had allergies. he was prescribed with singular for his allergies. My wife and I went to a specialist and he came out negative. He was then prescribe with pulmicort to inhale. Even 911 ambulance declare he was asthmatic when we explain to them his syndrome. Then one night my wife went on-line to do research about cow milk, and behold a pale horse the site stated the allergies systems is similar to asthma. So parents if your child is acting totally different when he drinks cow milk. Don't jump to conclusion that your joy in life is asthmatic just because the doctor says so .Doctor's are not always 100% right. Do your research and they will be a answer waiting for you not a "I think he has" answer. Your judgement can be just as important. THANK YOU goats for being just as delicious and helping my son to be correctly diagnose by doing research. 1 point for parents zero points for the medical field.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome substitute for milk for my son!, August 27, 2009

I love this evaporated goat's milk for my son! It is not real expensive, and he loves it. Walmart also sells this, if you would prefer not to pay shipping. I would rather use this and supplement a few supplements then use canned formula. It has lots of harmful ingredients that this does not. The goat's milk here is fed a kosher diet and the goats are not pumped up with antibiotics and hormones! This goat's milk is closest to mother's milk!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powdered milk versus evaporated, October 24, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Meyenberg Evaporated Goat Milk, 12-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
My wife and I have relied on Meyenberg for goat milk for many years, and though we normally buy it refrigerated, when in the US, we also purchase it in powdered form when traveling abroad, usually for several months out of the year. I was recently unable to purchase it in its powdered form from the Meyenberg supplier on Amazon, as it was out of stock, so I opted for the evaporated milk cans. It's still very good, though for easy transportation powdered milk is hard to beat, as I find the evaporated milk a bit bulky and thus more expensive to ship abroad. On the other hand, the drawback with powdered milk is, once it is opened, the milk powder becomes harder to dissolve the longer it is kept . . . that's the compromise. Still, my wife and I are happy to have the option.

I have been buying this for my daughter - since she loves drinking this - and it is extremely easy to digest and has better value than cow's milk.

we moved to NY where we could not find fresh Goat's milk., so we ordered the canned milk to see how it would be. After trying it, I will now never return to the fresh. No need to. This is wonderful. I have it on blueberries every morning. It's like desert. A true treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelllent product - inflated retail price, August 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Meyenberg Evaporated Goat Milk, 12-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
Meyenberg itself at its website lists this case of milk for retail of $33.00/case + $26.21 shipping (to my area)... [Outrageous shipping cost] Amazon's "retail" price obvious is hiked $13 to include "free shipping" - but Amazon's "sale" price is still cheaper overall than Meyenberg's retail + shipping, so Amazon is best place to get it, but price could still stand to come down somewhere more reasonable.]

A case of 12 - 12oz cans makes 288 oz of product or 2.25 gallons, thus, gallon price works out to $12.37/gallon--a bit steep (an understatement!). The only benefit is the shelf life, flavor, and that goat's milk is better for you, and that this brand has no hormones etc.

However, this milk is excellent - it is evaporated/concetrated, add to equal part water (swish out bottom of can several time as a lot settles) to the can of milk. Rich and creamy milk. If it is a little sour for your liking, add a little agave nectar (hazelnut and amaretto are awesome in it), xylitol or honey.

Before I go further, I have received the approval of our physician to use the goat milk formula and my son gets blood work every three months to make sure he is not deficient in anything.

With that being said, I have been using the goat milk for my son since he was three months old due to my son's GI issues. When Neocate and Nutramigen AA were being forced on my son, he threw up constantly and stopped gaining weight. When we switched to a goat milk formula, he started gaining weight and has never been healthier. I attempted to use the powder and I found it to be hard to use because it doesn't dissolve in the water without clumping if the water isn't the right temperature and with the cans, it's just simpler. He goes through approximately a can a day and for us, the only place we can get the goat milk is online because our local stores have stopped carrying it. We wouldn't use the fresh goat milk that some stores carry because that goat milk doesn't have the added vitamin D and folic acid and since we have to add the supplements to the milk, that's just one less thing we have to worry about.

I personally like getting the case of goat milk because it's much fresher than what we were getting in the store and we are able to have three cases delivered to our door.

5.0 out of 5 stars An alternative to cow's milk., November 5, 2009

This review is from: Meyenberg Evaporated Goat Milk, 12-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
Since I am lactose intolerant, I have been looking for a substitute for cow's milk. I often heard my parents talk about goat's milk so lately I decided to purchase some. Well that is actually harder than imagined since a lot of stores don't carry it. I finally did an internet search and voila, this is what I found and at an affordable price too. I absolutely love it. No stomach upsets, no gas, no bloating and I am like a kid again. Drinking milk!!!!!!!!

I used this product as a supplement for my dog and her puppies for almost 4 months. Its high fat and protein content is needed for her ability to produce milk and keep healthy, and their energy and growth. I preferred the evaporated in cans rather than reconstituting the powdered version.

5.0 out of 5 stars condensed goat milk, December 14, 2007
This review is from: Meyenberg Evaporated Goat Milk, 12-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
Great for people with lactose insensitivities who wish to use some favorite recipes: ex. pumpkmin pie.
Unfortunately after searching a wide area locally, I ordered on line with the additonal postage expense. Could not believe my eyes when I saw it at Walmart.
