Worth Every Nickel, June 30, 2000
This review is from: Meyer Anolon Professional Saute Pan with Lid & Helper Handle 5 Qt.
This is one of the most usable, wearable skillets I have ever used. It is simply wonderful. I have used it to cook everything from omelets to fried chicken to french toast to soups. The finish is quite wearable and durable. I clean it with a plastic squeegee and mild soap. It doesn't get scratched up easily; you have to work at it. Most things just clean right up with a few scrubs of the squeegee. It also imparts no flavor whatsoever to what you are cooking in it. It doesn't retain smells of what you cooked previously. In a few words, it is worth every nickel you will pay for it. Every single one.. I promise.

This Pan Rocks!, January 12, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Meyer Anolon Professional Saute Pan with Lid & Helper Handle 5 Qt.
This is absolutely the best sauté pan I have ever owned. I bought the big 12-inch and then a complete set. It's great for cooking one-pot meals for the family. Ever start cooking something and run out of room? No problem here. I really like the vertical sides as opposed to the "flare' of a traditional fry pan. The heat distribution is amazing. I love the glass lid. I also use it with a bamboo steamer for Asian cooking. The even temperature makes for a great steamer pot. Drawbacks: The pan is a little heavy when fully loaded. It's much different from handling a stock pot where you always grab two handles at once. Watch out for the "easy" grab using one handle. You may find food in places you didn't expect! The side and lid handles get fairly hot when in use (not enough to burn you, but you can't hold on to them more than a few seconds). I wished they did not use a metal handle on the lid, but something that would not transfer the heat as easily as metal. These are minor annoyances in an otherwise great product. Hey, grab a handle once or twice and you'll learn real fast. A great addition to any kitchen and highly endorsed!

Great pan at a great price, October 31, 2004
This review is from: Meyer Anolon Professional Saute Pan with Lid & Helper Handle 5 Qt.
I paid full price for this pan about 8 years ago, and it is still great shape after all of these years. It is very versatile because it is a deep pan, serving multiple functions. With that said, I would first recommend getting the Anolon professional 7 1/2 quart everything pan because it is cheaper and is able to do almost everything that this pan does. However, this is a better fry pan because the everything pan is even deeper, making it more difficult to flip larger items, especially as they get larger and closer to the edge of the pan.
