5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy little tree, great company
I received the tree about two months ago. Out of the box there were a couple of leaves that didn't survive the packing. In my original review I mentioned this problem and immediately received a message from John Dhanens, the owner and nursery manager of Clifton Farms offering his help to make sure that the tree pulls through and recovers from the trip. After a few weeks...

3.0 out of 5 stars Came quick, but no blossoms yet
This came super fast, despite us living in a cold climate.
I expected it to be a little more mature, as other reviewers mentioned it arriving with blossoms. Ours is pretty young, no blossoms yet, but it arrived alive and quickly, so I guess we'll just have to keep it alive for a year or so to get lemons.

After a few weeks of settling in the tree is doing much better now and John sent along another message just to check on the tree and to make sure I was happy with the purchase.
I have to say, in this day, this type of customer service and follow up is very rare indeed. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about John and his desire to make things right. In his own words; "Being a little guy, my philosophy is to be in it for the long haul, building long term relationships with customers... Glad to hear the tree is doing better..." Clifton Nursery and John has a new supporter in me. I am very pleased with the whole purchase and follow through.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meyer Lemons in Season, in NY, in October!, October 27, 2008
This review is from: Meyer Lemon Tree, One Gallon (Kitchen)
Just harvested my first Meyer lemons, in NY, in October! This little tree is a family favorite! It lost all but three leaves last winter (it was a cold one, even indoors), and the branch on which the lemons were ripening was broken by the cat and repaired with electrical tape, then splinted with a sturdy paint-stirrer. In spite of all that, it grew new branches, flourished again, yesterday, after almost 14 months of ripening (!), even on a healed branch, I harvested three gorgeous thin-skinned, fragrant, juicy lemons, which I promptly made into tarts and curd. Well worth the wait. I am SO pleased!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome tree with very fragrant flowers!, May 16, 2007

The lemon tree I received was taller than I expected, but it arrived with very fragrant flowers and was generally in descent shape. It probably isn't suitable for a bonsai-type of decorative indoor plant due to its height (~3 ft tall with a lengthy trunk), but it is still suitable for indoor or apartment use. I've had it for several weeks now and it has really rebounded from its initial condition and has produced a lot of new fragrant flowers. I'm serious--a lot of flowers! In general, this tree has become an awesome talking point and my friends really love it. I recently saw a Meyer lemon tree at a local plant nursery that looked smaller and was more like a bonzai tree, but it cost a lot more. I would definitely recommend purchasing this tree for yourself or as a gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars it was the perfect gift, May 15, 2007
This review is from: Meyer Lemon Tree, One Gallon (Kitchen)
i gave this tree as a unique birthday gift to a friend of mine who is an amateur horticulturist(sp?). he loved the idea. it was ideally packaged and received no damage through the delivery. (that was my fear) once it bloomed, the whole house smelled great. and so far, there are tiny meyer lemons beginning to grow. it is too early to pick the fruit so i cannot comment on the quality of fruit.

Our lemon tree arrived in about 4 days. It was packed extremely well. I left her (yes, we personify our plants :-) in her container for about 3 days to recover from being in the box. I transplanted her to a larger container and was thrilled to see buds popping out all over! It's been about 3 weeks now and she is covered with heavenly smelling flowers. I've set her outside in the nice weather for the bees to get to her, and we've used a paintbrush to help with pollination. We'll see if we get any fruit, but regardless...we are very pleased with the quality of our tree. The kids have named her Lucy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Tree!, January 31, 2009

Bought this tree as my X-mas present and have nothing but good things to say. It got here (NJ) in about seven days well packed and in pretty good shape. It looked a little sad from the trip and the cold (it was in the 30s that week)and followed the directions that came with it: water, few days latter re-pot, then fertilize and placed it near a window with a SW exposure. About two weeks after it arrieved it started to grow thorns followed by clusters of flower buds...lots of them! It's been about a month and this little champ looks as happy as any tree I've ever had.
Awesome buy.

I received this "tree" last year, it had four little green lemons on it. In the fall I was rewarded with four wonderful beautiful meyer lemons. It's now early spring and the little tree has quite a few buds on it. I am very pleased with this plant!
