The best we've had!,

This review is from: 4 (8 oz) Meyer Natural Angus Prime Filet Mignon Steaks (Misc.)
I have ordered USDA prime filet mignon steaks from Allen Brothers, [...], Lobel's of Maine and from local meat shops. My two favorites are:
1) Meyer Natural Beef 2) [...] These Meyer steaks are of excellent quality and taste. These are as tender, flavorful and juicy and we have ever found. The service and shipping are above and beyond what I have seen from any other place. The shipment arrived quickly, was well packed and included a large cooler-bag that we continue to use to keep cold items cold during road trips and vacations. I am the kind of guy who likes to dry as many products as I can and try to determine which are the very best. These are the #1 steaks that I have found.

I have ordered many great steaks over the years. Most are very good.
You have to be careful if it is truely "Prime" or prime. Also how is it trimmed? Close or Hand or Triple trimmed? You do not want any silver skin. You will have to trim it yourself. Look at shipping charges. They can be $30. So look at what you are really getting for the price. I have ordered from Meyer twice. You are getting a great steak for the price. Some other steak companies filets look great with no flavor. Meyer looks good with a true steak flavor. Be careful. These steaks cook fast. You can go from rare to medium in the blink of an eye. Do not walk away. If in doubt pull it off the grill early and let it rest. Allow your guests to slice into it on their plate. If it not to their liking, you can always put it back on the grill. 1 minute max should do it. Some filets will take a little bit of latitude. These do not. Explain to your guests that these filets are very delicate and do not reflect on your grilling expertise. Once they taste them, they will agree. You will be impressed with the quality and price.
