It is supposed to serve as a neck knife, so I don't expect it to do much in the way of utility, especially with such a sharp point meant for piercing. Still, the blade could use some sharpening. I'm pretty sure most people who use a neck knife don't just cut open boxes or carve wood all day, so like I said, as a neck knife, it will do ots job when needed. The sheath holds the knife very well and the knife should come out fairly easily if you go to pull it while it is hanging from your neck. Putting it back in the sheath requires some care, though, because the opening is just big enough to put the knife in straight and flat. You'll want to take your time so that you don't end up putting the blade into your other hand because you're rushing or not paying attention.

I removed a star for each of the following reasons: 1. The sheath does fit very securely, but in doing so it very quickly wears away at the black finish on the knife. Two silvery lines are becoming visible on the flat parts of the blade as the sheath wears the finish down at two spots close to the center of the flat. This is probably due to a rather light/cheap coating being used more than the sheath's fault I'd say. Still, it was not expected to wear without the knife really even seeing much use beyond being removed and replaced in the sheath a few times, so I felt I should point it out. Certainly not a deal breaker, just unfortunate. And 2. The ball chain (like what is used for military dog tags) is cheap junk. Do not rely on it. The clasp is very weak metal and will deform as soon as you put any strain on the chain, like when you try to unsheath the knife. So instead of removing the knife from its sheath, you just end up pulling the chain off your neck, and the knife is still in its sheath.

You can not go wrong with this knife for the price!! It's lightweight, low profile and easily concealable around the neck or anywhere else. It doesn't come very sharp but that's an easy fix. One other thing is that it's hard to pull out of the sheath until it gets broke in. Overall great knife.

This knife was exactly what I wanted. I had to sharpen it right out of the box but that was more because I'm picky about blades and not so much that the knife was delivered dull.

Useful and small for nights when I jog outside. Can easily hide in my glove or pocket or around my neck. Pretty sharp. useful for opening packages.
