Great music from 3 of the greastest erotic films of the 60s. The high part of this album is the lengthy booklet including many pictures from the films. I am a little unhappy that some of the songs have the dialogue included. There is another edition of the Vixen soundtrack that is more complete but is no longer in circulation. Very impressed with Lorna and Faster Pussycat. A great buy for any Russ Meyer fan or filmatic jazz fan.

This CD features the soundtracks to three of Russ Meyer's films. Unfortunately, the recording quality isn't very good. The music seems to be taken directly from the films, because most of the tracks have film dialogue over the music. Plus, the music isn't all that great to begin with. Igo Kantor is no Bernard Hermann. Anyway, people don't watch Russ Meyer movies to hear the music. They watch them to see busty women. Fortunately, the booklet that comes with the CD shows many pictures of Russ Meyer's women, with and without clothes. This CD is for Russ Meyer's biggest fans only.

"Rum i'm liking this cd alot. What i call a proper soundtrack. None of this sloppiness, you know what i mean, where songs appear in the film but then don't on the soundtrack, and vice versa. This is a real SOUND TRACK. So, like, for the first part of 'faster pussycat' it literally tracks the film scene by scene. It starts with that funny spiel, "Let's examine closely then, this dangerously evil creation, this new breed encased and contained within the supple skin of woman", and then, like the film, it segues into that 'faster pussycat' go-go dancing theme, then it jumps into some jazz and then a big hunk a chunk of dialogue. not bad huh? and that's all on track 1!... well, yeah, you're right, you can't just play the one song, or the jazz, you have to listen all the dialogue too. bit of a pain... sorry? is it like when you wash the dishes and you can hear the tv on in the other room?! <chuckles> i see what you mean, you might as well put the film on and close your eyes. yes, i guess it is like that. And it's funny you say that because it actually sounds like it's been recorded directly from the tv. You know, it sounds flat, and tinny, like it's blaring out of an AM radio... You do get music from the Vixen and Lorna films too. so, it's pretty good value. And there are more short individual tracks on those. Easier to digest. Pleasant easy listening jazz. The 'Lorna' theme's good... Yeah the sound quality's still pretty shoddy. And there ain't much soundtrack on either. Pretty slim pickings. The whole cd only runs to like an hour... yeah! that's all 3 films! Including all the dialogue...... ah but rum look at this fully illustrated colour inlay. mmm i do get some pretty photographs of some of my favourite meyer vixens, tura satana, erica gavin, lorna maitland..."
