Introduced in 1955 as a replacement for the ailing TF Midget, the MGA won instant acclaim. Its modern, streamlined appearance and excellent handling marked the start of a new, highly successful era for the MG name. Drawing on contemporary road tests, this book relates how the MGA 1500 was seen as the saviour of the MG name. It was available in both roadster and coupe forms, and there was also a Twin-Cam. The 100,000th MGA left Abingdon in March 1962, but was soon replaced by the MGB. This guide provides full specifications for each model, details of the works MGAs, as well as production models, and advice on buying and owning a car.
