Los Angeles, CA (Tuesday September 13th, 2011) International superstar Cristian Castro, announces the launch of his new album "Mi Amigo El Principe" for November 1st, 2011 and also announces the name of the first single to divest from the album.
"Lo Dudo", will serve as an introduction of what will be the second installment of his tribute to his friend and musical father, José José. The song is one of the biggest hits of Latin music in the 80's, a song that sold more than 3 million copies in 1983 and today reappears in the voice of Cristian Castro, one of the most respected and revered singers of the today. "Lo Dudo" was produced in this new version by legendary Spanish producer, Rafael Perez-Botija. The song stays true to its original arrangements, with a contemporary twist worthy of this era and takes us back to those years of great romantic hits from Mexico's biggest crooner, José José.
"I want to infinitely thank my dear friend Cristian Castro for the beautiful way in which he has brought me closer to the new generation by recording my songs in the wonderful way in which he has done so. This gives me the opportunity to remain relevant and continue to deliver the message of love from the composers of my day to all of the youth today," commented José José.
"Mi Amigo El Principe" will be released on November 1st in Mexico, Spain, United States, Central America, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Peru, and the rest of South America.

I think that Cristian Castro is one of the most interesting talents to come out of the world of popular Latin music--originally something of a pop star, he experimented with a little bit of everything, including an improbably good Mariachi album. He has made no secret of his adoration of the music Jose Jose, and his previous album, Viva El Principe was an unabashed love letter to the Mexican Prince of Song. This album features all the deliciously over the top string arrangements, dramatic buildups and gently unfocused closeups that you could ever desire from an album of Jose Jose music, and it does it all with Cristian's wonderful voice. Cristian has always had a warm, romantic baritone with an enjoyable flexibility and vibrato; these are played to perfect advantage in this repertoire. In the end, this becomes a caramel covered rich vanilla sundae of an album: sweet, lingering on the palate, and probably pretty fattening. You have to fully embrace your need for heart on the sleeve, rapturous, overly dramatic Mexican ballads to get this album, but once you admit to yourself that you can't live without this music (and you really shouldn't) you will not go back. Wonderful, tender tribute to a great singer by another singer who grows greater with age.

En este disco esperaba encontrar los exitos mas bonitos de las canciones de Jose Jose. Solo 4 de 10 canciones son las mas conocidas. Si Cristian se anima a hacer un 3 disco en homenaje al Principe de la cancion espero que pueda escojer mejores letras. De igual manera el disco esta bonito en la voz de Cristian Castro.
