5.0 out of 5 stars Geri's Best Single
This single (the 1st one) really really deserves 5 stars. Track 1 (original version) is a amazing latin pop song, arragements are good and vocal is sexy. Although Geri commits some spanish mistakes, it's my fav track from Schizophonic. Track 2 (G.A.Y.), if you like Bag It Up (I love it), you'll love this dance song that honors disco years. The beat is fast, her vocal...

2.0 out of 5 stars Are you all "loco"??
I really wonder why you all give five stars for that song. When I first heard it, I really had to laugh. The English housewife Geri sings Latino, of course not only because Latin music is the hype at the moment... Hmm.. the song is somewhat entertaining, but absolutely tasteless - and in my opinion Geri cannot really sing. It is so bad that it is kind of funny to...

Plus, there's her best video (Mi Chico Latino) in .mov format.

This is her second Solosingle. She shows us again that she is better without the Spice Girls. It's again a Partysong with a Latin-Flair. (If this word doesn't exist yet I've just invented it)
The Bonustracks are not on the Album. "G A Y" is one of the best songs she ever did. It's great for dancing and it reminds me of "Scream if you wanna go faster". "Summertime" is very strange. It has strange Lyrics and the melody is also strange. But i liked it after hearing it for a few times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Geri shows her Latin side., April 19, 2008
Mi Chico Latino by Geri Halliwell is a cool single, she sings a little bit in Spanish on the track. This import contains two unreleased bonus tracks, the cheeky, G.A.Y. and the sultry ballad, Summertime. Both songs are actually quite good, Geri was one cool diva back in the day. I highly recommend this rare purchase.

I really like Geri Halliwell but this single does not really reflect her best work.
1. Mi Chico Latino--Good song!
2. G.A.Y.--This is the exact same type of sound that 'getting better' and 'destiny' have(the b-sides to 'calling'). To make a long commentary short--It didnt make the album for a reason.
3. Summertime--Lyrically confusing although its nice to hear the different sound it has to it.
4. Video--Its just ok.
After owning 7 of Geri's singles I have to say that 2 of them are worth keeping and Her albums are outstanding so.....thats that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising, August 15, 2000

This review is from: Mi Chico Latino - Part 1 (Audio CD)
Okay so Geri Halliwell; like most of her ex-bandmates the Spice Girls; doesn't have the strongest voice or profond lyrics to change the world. That is not her point,or the Spice Girls point for that matter,She just wants people to have a good time with her music and with this single it would be hard not to. "Mi Chico Latino" is a latin song that you can't help to hum and shake to. The B-Sides "G.A.Y." and "Summertime" show her range to great disco-like music to A song that suits her seductive, raspy voice. Will Geri Halliwell as a solo artist ever reach the heights she did when she was Ginger? I don't know but she probably will have a Great time trying and if she keeps making Good POP music like this, we probably would love to keep dancing to her sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than You'd Expect, July 11, 2000
This review is from: Mi Chico Latino - Part 1 (Audio CD)
The only reason to get this CD is for the song G.A.Y -- which I'm guessing is inspired by the Astoria Theater in London which hosts G.A.Y. This song should have been on her album and should have been the first single. It's irresistable and surpasses anything this Spice Girls ever could have dreamed up. BTW, G.A.Y -- both the club and song -- mean Good As You!

4.0 out of 5 stars Latina Spice?, June 11, 2000

This review is from: Mi Chico Latino - Part 1 (Audio CD)
This first single of Mi Chico Latino blows the roof compared to Geri's first singles of Look At Me. G.A.Y., hence the name does not mean what everyone probably thought it did in the beginning. In the song, filled with disco like beats, the words "Good As You" are repeated so I'm guessing that's that Geri is referring as G.A.Y. This song is probably the best B-side she has produced so far. It's a very disco-like song with awesome lyrics. Summertime is a haunted song, a song that you could see yourself listening to on a movie such a Scream, when the police enter the house and see the people lying on the floor in a pool of blood. It's a song that is beautiful in it's own way. It talks a lot about being in the ocean, which goes along a lot with the Mi Chico Latino music video. This is the better single of the two singles!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wishing I Was a Chico Latino, December 27, 1999
This is a really good CD. It includes the album version of Mi Chico Latino - plus the video which can be played on your computer, and it's delicious to look at! there's something there for everyone! Guys and lesbians have Geri in a number of hot bathing suits, and women and gay guys have the luscious boi dancers to drool over. The other two songs are previously unreleased tracks. G.A.Y. has a great disco dance beat and liberating lyrics! It's a nice nod to a big group of her fans. Summertime is a haunting track that kinda sounds like a Bond song. It would have made a great ender on her Schizophonic album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great New Songs Further Geri's Credibility, November 26, 1999
When I heard that Geri Halliwell's European single "Mi Chico Latino" was going to have new songs, I new I had to grab a copy! And I was not disappointed at all in these new songs! "G.A.Y." & "Summertime" are so great, and better than a few songs that made it onto the album. "G.A.Y." reminds me of George Michael's "Outside" but better, and "Summertime" is the type of song you'd listen to on a lazy, hazy summer day (sorry - Spice Girls flash back - but it's true!). So if you're a fan of Geri's, you most definitely don't want to miss this CD, it's fantastic, and there are two great pics to indulge in! Geri is magnificent!
