I got this yesterday and I'm hooked. It's beautiful all over. There are some fillers here and there that are forgettable, but the good songs in this album wraps your heart around. "Como lluvia" with musical genius Juan Luis Guerra is breathtaking. "Silencio" with Josh Groban is equally enthralling. And of course "Manos al aire" is also a very good song. It's a great album. I haven't bought music in a long time, and I did this time because the people she collaborated with are of immense quality. For those who say that comment on her weak voice, I partially agree, but really all you need is someone who stays in keys and delivers an emotional connection through the songs. Her voice seems to sound a bit more nasal because it's an acoustically driven album instead of the big boom-pow of her previous productions. Overall, I think the Latin community will really like this. Bravo Nelly!

From hip hop to folk to Latin music and everything in between, Nelly excels at everything she does and never loses her passion and drive. This album is filled with amazing Spanish lyrics and incredible pop production with a latin twist. It's accessible, catchy and very easy listening. No matter what direction she chooses to go with her music, her plan never fails! Looking forward to whatever comes next from Nelly!

I was a lukewarm Nelly Fan during her I'm Like a Bird and Folklore era, but when I bought Loose I was hooked. It was a fun album yet with some sad moments that really made you feel the words and the music. Overall an excellent pop album. This album is sooo good and coherent-the stories the songs tell are all interrelated, I love the guest stars and I really like this overall from track 1 to 12! If you're expecting Loose 2 in Spanish its not but what it is-is good! I'm glad she decided to do something different and not just give us a loose 2!

Nelly has done it again! If you're a true fan, you follow your singers when they venture into something new. If you're not big on spanish songs, then this is not the album for you. If you're up for new things, then check it out! I love it!

I always knew that I was a Nelly Furtado fan, but this album really proves it. Each of her first three albums was really different, and I liked them all. When I heard her next album would be in Spanish, I was a little disappointed because I don't speak Spanish. Turns it that's not particularly relevant.

I pretty much like every song on this CD. My favorites are "Vacacion," which is a fun, upbeat song, and "Como Lluvia," which is a mid-tempo song with a beautiful melody. "Manos al Aire" is also excellent, as are "Mi Plan" and "Suficiente Tiempo." Those are probably my top 5, though all the others are good, including "Silencio," and I don't really like Josh Groban at all.

The fact is, Nelly Furtado makes good music that lifts your spirits. She writes and sings from the heart, and that always comes through in her songs. I went to one of her concerts a few years ago, and the same can be said about her performances. I find it hard to believe that she could make music that I wouldn't like. I hope that continues to be the case.

If you like Nelly Furtado but are apprehensive about this album because it's in Spanish, don't worry. You'll still like this album. I'm convinced. Music is music.

That Furtado has said that with some things she could more freely express herself in Spanish made me laugh a bit, because the Spanish of this album leaves a bit to be desired. Singing isn't her strong point, but for the sort of music she's made, it never had to be, and it has always been enjoyable - whether you preferred the more acoustic sounds of her earlier albums or the pop/dance rhythms of the more current. While I have generally liked most of what she puts out, I have to admit that as a Spanish speaker I feel a little embarrassed to listen to this album. It's not her accent but the fact that some lyrics are grammatically incorrect that bothers me. You would think that with as much money as Furtado has behind her, they would have brought more people into the studio to make sure that what she was going to be singing was flawless. That being said, I think that although this is her first 'Spanish' album, it's a Spanish album with an audience of non-native speakers who would be more forgiving of the errors.

Where the album excels is in its inclusion of guest artists who are amazing. The most notable - for me - is Buika who is just a phenomenal singer. Venegas & La Mala are two singers who are perfect for the style of music Furtado is making, and the chemistry among the singers is clear on the track.

Overall it's a decent album, but it's one that had it had more editing lyrically could have been fantastic for native and non-native speakers alike.

For many years now I have been a Nelly Furtado fan. However, the only album before this one that I have purchase was Nelly's "Loose" album. After that album I really got hooked on her music, and after seeing her live in concert I thought she was so amazing. When I heard she was doing a Spanish album I had mixed feelings. I loved the song "Te Busque" from her last album, but wasn't sure she could pull off an entire Spanish album. Aside from my mixed feelings I went ahead and bought this album when it came out. I must say that I was quite impressed. This album is a string of hits, starting with "Manos Al Aire". However, my favorite song from the record would have to be "Bajo Otra Luz". The songs on this album are fun and vibrant. I listened to the entire record front and back, with no skipping of songs. I am very happy I can add this to my collection. I hope Nelly Furtado continues making both English and Spanish music, she has a great sound. If you are interested in buying this record, I totally recommend it. There are a lot of great guest performers on the record that add some extra charm. Hope this review helps.

I can't believe Nelly...
Adrian, you're alienating yourself! In all the world, people listen to mainstream radio and hear songs in different languages than those of their own. So what's the problem in Nelly wanting to express herself in Spanish? She is canadian-portuguese! she has latin blood and has sung in Spanish... Read More
