Chris Gaffney continues to be one of the best unknown artists in the world. He plays with a sincerity and sound not heard in country since Hank Williams. But, he can rock with the best of them.

Mi Vida Loca is an excellent release from a very talented singer / song writer. There is not a weak track in the bunch. Some of my favorites include '68, Silent Partner & Six Nights A Week. The backing band is excellent as well. I highly recommend all of his CD's as well as the outstanding Hacienda Brothers CD's that he did with Dave Gonzalez. The world lost a true talent earlier this year when Chris passed away. Those who have taken the time to discover his excellent music will miss him and cherish what he released during his lifetime. I highly recommend that you check out this release. You will not be disappointed.

When Chris Gaffney passed away last April, Roots-music lost a real-deal kind of singer. Chris had one of those lived-in,soulful voices that could bring a tear to a glass eye. This album has great songs and great players on it. All of Chris' albums are treasures and this one is no exception so sit down, crack a cold one, put on the CD and raise a toast to Chris!

Gaffney was a wonderful musician and had a very eclectic style, whimsical tastes and damn fine performance skills. I love the music on this CD; the song "Psychotic Girlfriend" stands out as a one of those memorable kooky songs that delights the uninitiated and captures that "sound track of a life experience" that Gaffney was so good at creating. He was a fine man, and we'll miss him for a long time to come; thankfully, we still have his recordings.

...Chris Gaffney is the real deal. He is the one songwriter who really writes about growing up in LA and especially southeast county with insight and deep feeling. "68" and "Artesia" are masterpieces. This guy should recognized as a master of the form and the band rocks too.
