5.0 out of 5 stars Breaking the Myth of the Soviet Superfighters ?, May 26, 2000
This review is from: MiG-25 'Foxbat' MiG-31 'Foxhound': Russia's Defensive Front Line (Aerofax) (Paperback)
Yefim Gordon's book successfully copes with the misunderstanding which surrounds the MiG 25 "Foxbat" one of the World's fastest jet fighters and its successor the MiG 31, nicknamed the Foxhound. Gordon shows that it was a machine built to defend the huge Soviet airspaces, rather like the first stage of an air to air missile rather than the Superfighter the West believe it to be. The MiG 25 has been exported to a number of countries and its service has been well documented by the author. Of particular interest is its use in the Middle east, operating reconnaissance flights over Israel from bases in Egypt. I like the layout of the book with its beautiful line drawings of all versions of the Foxbat, followed by colour graphic art drawings. There are plenty of black and white photos which show this impressive plane in different angles. A truly top class effort by a leading Russian author on aviation

This review is from: MiG-25 'Foxbat' MiG-31 'Foxhound': Russia's Defensive Front Line (Aerofax) (Paperback)
Yefim Gordon is one of the best authors available at this time writing about Soviet aircraft. This is a good book about the Mig25 Foxbat, little bit thin on the Mig 31 Foxhound. Many good line drawings of the prototype & production models of the Mig25, not so many of the Mig 31.

Bit pricy for what you get, but I am overall pleased to have this in my collection to add information& detailed pix of these two interceptors.
