It works as promised, but two design flaws pretty much ruin my opinion of the product. 1) The case does not close over the phone fully as the hinged back never really connects snugly over the phone. 2) You cannot use the Apple charger plug when the case is on the phone. One must use a mini-USB to charge the phone/battery case. Personally I do not need another, different, cord in my life.

Made like garbage and doesn't work. The only thing that works is the button showing how much charge is left but mine never charges my phone.

I travel overseas so I need to have extra power available. This case does the trick.
I have only two issues:
1. The manner in which the hinge top clips to the phone will eventually wear to the point of no longer locking onto the phone. It uses a small lip that rides over the top edge of the phone. The lip is plastic so with time, will eventually wear away. I've owned this case for about 3 months now and the "grip" of this lip is beginning to loosen.
2. I cannot use the ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD with this case; it loosens at the edge and within 3 days peeled off.
In hindsight I should have waited for the Mophie Juice Pack case. I had one of these for my iPhone 3GS and really liked it. I was able to use the ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD with the Mophie case. My only issue with that case was after 1 year of constant use (and a few drops) the top corner of the case began to crack. The case's wall thickness gets quite thin in the corners so it's no real surprise. Perhaps they've improved in the iPhone 4 version.
The aforementioned lip on the case broke after only 9 months. MiLi would replace it under warranty but I had to pay for shipping to Shenzhen China! It would cost me just as much to buy another case so I bought a Mophie instead. Mophie Juice Pack Air Case and Rechargeable Battery (Black, Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4)
I only bought the MiLi because they were first to market and I needed it for frequent overseas trips. No issues with the iPhone 4 Mophie, also no issues with the 2.5 year old iPhone 3g Mophie case.
Lesson learned: wait for Mophie, they make a better product.

PRO: Very long battery life.
Easy to use.
Protects back and sides of phone from scratches.
More durable feeling.
Very Sleek look.
CON: You have to take the iPhone out of the MiLi device to use existing cables, docks, and holders for the iPhone.
I got this item because I use a golf gps app that can be harsh on the battery; although, I could usually make it through a round without any battery problems I didn't want to ever have to worry about battery problems on the course. I finished charging it yesterday morning (26 hrs ago) and played 18 holes of golf with the gps on the entire round (about 3.5 hrs) and this morning I still have 3 LED power indicator lights on the MiLi meaning that the MiLi has between 50-75% power left, and my phone still has a full charge. I would normally be down to 40ish % battery by now. It should be noted that GPS apps are by far the most taxing on the battery. Far harder on the battery than playing video and audio so using the GPS was a good test.
I think the MiLi recharges the iPhone periodically to keep the iPhone battery full, rather than using all of the battery in one source, then moving to the next source.
One con I kept hearing about this device was its bulkiness. I personally like the extra bulkiness it adds to the phone. I think it gives the phone a little more of a rugged and durable feel. (Although it doesn't make it any more durable, just feels that way.) I always thought the phone felt a little too fragile like I was holding a sheet of glass.
One downside I can see to the bulkiness is if you have any holders designed for the iPhone, such as in your car so you can easily change music or use iPhone for gps. Also, if you have any docks for the iPhone, it won't fit anymore.... Read more ›

After reading N. Williams' review I thought I would still give this item a try just because I have had another Mili battery before and they had great capacity.
Well...this is my second purchase and the battery does work great for my iPhone 4G (AT&T) but the top cap will not stay put no matter what I try.
I knocked 2 stars off because this is certainly a design flaw. Perhaps Mili should revise the way the cap is built. Extremely inconvenient to have the cap flip open while I try to get it out of my pocket or case. Because of the LOOSE cap, it always gets stuck inside my pocket or case. Frustrating.

I bought this item while in the airport. I love it, my phone case could close over the top and also it does give much battery life. I work in an operating room and at times I can't plug in my phone to charge. With this item, it works great! True, you can't dock it, but I never do, and one thing that is great is that this charger allows you to sync with your itunes! I had the 3G before this and the phone charger I had wouldn't allow me to sync through the charger. I would have to remove the phone and then use the original apple cord, here I don't have to do that any more! I also have another back up battery that I don't like as much and I feel this one holds more of a charge, brand is Duracell. The other thing, this case is pretty sleek and not to bulky at all, it does not continuously charge the phone. It allows the phone, once fully charged, to stay that way with out pulling power from the back up. I think this is a great idea, you push the button on the side and it will then charge. Also, the charger will easily come out of a pocket if needed due to the smoothness of the case. My duracell charger as rubber on the top of the case, and it can sometimes pull my pocket inside out which can be a pain if you are trying to take the phone out to answer quickly. Over all, I love this charger and I would buy it again if this one broke without any hesitation!
