I love how they look, and yes, i also love the bright green rings around the lid. It adds a very curious accent to the design. Also agree about them looking fragile, but not being so. They are somewhat bigger than i expected, it's a bit uncomfortable to hold them in the hand, because they are bulky and sort of fat, not slim, so your grasp isn't as firm as you'd like. But my biggest problem with them is the oil pour. It is indeed controlled by the pressure on the lid, but it's in no way a comfortable solution. Sometimes, when the lid is a bit oily, you have to use both hands. And even if you can do it with one hand, the oil doesn't come out as a smooth little dribble, it's flow is quite irregular and random. The vinegar bottle's functionality is better, since the vinegar does not have the thick consistency of the oil. All that being said, they do look rather cool on my kitchen counter!

I've had these for about 6 months and I keep them in a basket on my counter in my food prep zone with my other quick seasonings. True, the silicone is bright green but I'm glad I didn't let that deter me. These are very useful to hold my oil and vinegar, even though I fill the oil decanter with only a few days supply as it is not being refrigerated. I am a raw vegan of sorts (not inflexible) and these are very handy throughout the day. I simply had to speak up when I read the previous review, as I love these for their simplicity and function as well as durability. (I have knocked them over a time or two, no problem). Also, the contents are well protected without a cap due to the curved design of the spout. They would not be very handy in quick food prep if I had to deal with lids! Yes, they feel fragile, but they aren't.

Felt a bit fragile, and had no cover over the spout. I was hoping to use these as storage items in a cupboard and did not want the oils to absorb other stray scents. Also, note that the rubber that holds the lids on is a BRIGHT neon green. I sent them back at a $5.55 loss for shipping, grrr... Kinda pricey...

I use these religiously, as I place them right on the counter next to my spice rack. They may seem fragile, but with a house full of wonderful cooks these have lasted much longer than anticipated. The pour is determined by the pressure placed on the lid- didn't realize this until 3 months in. The bright green silicone gaskets spice things up, but aren't a clash to the kitchen decor. Highly recommend these as a gift or for yourself. :D

I gave this product one star for appearance, deducting four star for product engineering. The product is very attractive and shows well on the table. Usage is a problem until you learn that vinegar will pour out and oil will drip. When you wash the glass use warm water only. Hot water will crack the top edge of the unit making it unusable. Water, oil etc gets between the inner and outer glass making it ugly and not sanitary.
Highly recommend not purchasing this product.

I love everything about these. Cute enough to leave on the counter all the time, but not so huge that they take up alot of space. Love the unexpected green accent as well. I was afraid they would be super delicate with the thin glass walls, but after using them for around 2 weeks, making it through a move and being knocked around a bit, they are very sturdy.
They are slightly awkward to hold because they are so wide at the bottom, but i have small hands, and lets be honest its not like you're walking around holding them all day, right? My only complaint is that one of the containers is not completely flat on the bottom, i assume its just a factory defect, but it is only slightly wobbly, and im willing to live with it. cant wait to try out other miam.miam stuff! |
