I remember Miami Beach as a child when my family traveled there on vacation. This book brought back so many fond memories and really gave me so much historical and social history about Miami Beach over the decades. Everyone I gave this book to enjoyed it as much as I did. It really takes you back in time and the pictures are great to look at. Joann Biondi has done a great job in bringing everything together in this enjoyable and informative book.

My father, Bennett M. Lifter was son of the beach and loved Miami Beach. I grew up watching his love for this town. He just passed away like so many of the people a couple of years go fast and this era was truly the beginnings of what we see today. My father a pioneer in parts of this city had a love for his childhood days living on 3rd and Ocean Drive at the Simone Hotel that his father built and went on to owning many of the hotels on the beach and building the Marco Polo and Waikiki Motel in Sunny Isles. He loved this place and glad he was so passionate and wrote the book with Joann Biondi. I always will remember how great and proud he was that this came about. It was very exciting to have this completed and I love giving this book to friends. It is a great coffee table book, and story of this vibrant town. I wish he was around to see it. Miami Beach is really such a emerging city and these memories are truly a very interesting time of the history in this region of the world.

A great read..."Miami Beach Memories" is like going to Miami Beach and having a chat with the old-timers...great pictures and first-person anecdotes from everybody from taxi company owners to alumni of Miami Beach High School. Absolutely invaluable as a research tool, or for sheer entertainment. I can't recommend this book enough! Congratulations to Joann Biondi on some very fine work.
