Good sound quality.

In my opinion; they are probably one of the best really cheap / small speakers you will find.
Audio Nut
I would recommend a SMSL SA-36 or SA-50 amplifier.

I don’t know what manner of alchemy is involved in the making of these speakers but that’s the only thing I can think of when I listen to them. The sound coming from them is entirely incongruent with their size. They take a bit of power to drive but boy do they pound out the sound when the volume is turned up. I am using them in my electronics repair workshop with an older Yamaha receiver with a headphone jack to RCA cable to connect it up to my cell phone where I stream Pandora and Spotify. I am extremely happy with the results. The sound is very powerful and deep with tons of bass. The sound is clean and clear even as I move around the room. I figure I was going to have to make do with something “modest” sounding given my space limitations, but these little speakers rock out like they are much bigger.

The grills are held on with magnets, but I just leave them off. It’s fun to watch the little woofers bounce when the bass hits. It’s got a very clean look to it. Construction looks great. Of course it’s mass produced but everything is tight and clean. Looks like a well built product that should last. It’s my first time buying speakers on Amazon, took a chance and I am very happy I did.

The above review from Camilla is on point. There's alchemy involved with these...or some voodoo hex, something. They sound MUCH LARGER than they are. Crystal clear sound, immersible & full. I bought mine as near field monitors for my computer set up to play music and the occasional movie. The mids are smooth & direct, the highs are defined, accurate & pure, as for the low end...that's where Merlin or some dark shaman cast a spell...Apparently it IS possible to have some solid low end come from a 3.5in speaker. Will it blow the doors off your house? No. Will it fill in the mids & highs with punchy bass line? Yes...But it's not going to be as deep as a larger speaker of similar quality, however for what it can do is far more than I ever would have expected!

I also own the MB42's from Micca...Those speakers have only gotten better the more I use them as a general use monitor set for music. Being that is the case I have high hopes for these Club 3's. It's because OF the MB42's I chose to give these a try. Not only am I 100% satisfied with these little jewels I am now kicking myself for not just getting them 3 months ago when I first saw them & the MB42's of which I procrastinated about for 2 months. When I finally broke down & bought the MB42's for my computer set up. They sounded great but being they were in a corner when my computer is, it was obvious they needed more space to fill out and sound good...hence why they are a solid part of my home theater. Being they ended up out in the living room I began searching for something for my computer again.

So, unlike last time; I dove in on these knowing how the MB42's sound. If you have any doubts, brush them off as unfounded. Give these little hot shots a try & they wont disappoint you.

I have been one of the more outspoken fans of the Micca MB42X speakers here, so I was chomping at the bit to check out the Club 3's. I have had them about a week now, and have probably 20 hours of break-in time on them. Please...always give speakers 20-40 hours of break-in time prior to reviewing them. Many speakers go through a dramatic transformation as they loosen up. I will give a preliminary review now, and follow up once they have been in service for awhile.

Out of the box...I hooked them up at my office where I had my beloved MB42X's playing. I immediately noticed that they appear to use the same tweeter as the MB42 series, which is a very good thing. The tweeters on these are as good as any silk dome tweeters I have encountered. Silk tweeters are typically known to be warm and easy on the ears, but not always as bright as some other types. These are very bright with lots of sparkle and sizzle; but not to the point of being fatiguing. The excellent drivers are what make the Micca speakers so good, even if they are in a cabinet that could be improved upon. The woofer is of similar carbon fiber construction as the MB42's. Like the standard MB42 (not X), these do not have a real crossover, just a capacitor in series with the tweeter.

My initial impressions were that they were not nearly as loud as the MB42X's. I had to drive the amp much harder, and I had to turn my sub down because it was now so much louder than the mains. The next thing I noticed was the bass response. As mentioned in earlier reviews; the bass from these is pretty phenomenal for a 3.5" driver. I turned the sub off and listed to these little guys all by themselves, and I didn't want for thump. They kick on the low end. I see 3 reasons for this;

1-The woofer is EXTREMELY high excursion.

These speakers are awesome for the price. I would say they're the best cheap speakers you can buy. Crisp highs and surprisingly good bass considering it only has a 3.5" woofer. They do lack a bit of midrange, but they make up on the low end. They are not very efficient though, so make sure you pair them up with a good amplifier. With enough power they will get loud and full. They will sound good with a Lepai amp but it ill not do them justice. I would recommend a SMSL SA-36 or SA-50 amplifier. Grab a pair, you won't be disappointed. I also own the Micca MB42x's which have a crossover and better midrange. If you're building an affordable 2.0 system look no more. If you're planning on building a 2.1 system then you should take a look at the Micca MB42x's instead. They are twice the price but are more refined.

I did have a QC issue with one of the speakers. The woofer gasket was not applied properly and the speaker was making "farting" sounds. Micca recommended I ship them back to Amazon. They're too cheap to send them back (not worth the hassle) so I went ahead and repaired it myself. It was an easy fix.
