Book Description

This is a heart-warming story about finding friendship in the oddest of places.

Matilda is a tiny mouse who has to leave her home and look for a new place to live. Immigration is necessary because her old home was getting too small for all the mice. She had to leave her home and look for a new place to live.

Matilda represents kindness, trustworthiness, and determination all wrapped up in a tiny, little mouse body.

On her way to the distant blue mountains she meets her old friend, Harriet, who she thought was dead. Blue mountains represent a hope of a better food, a chance to find happiness, and a new life.

These two adventurous and courageous mice prove that friendship and being kind to others can help you through any obstacles in your life.

Captivating illustrations will also encourage young readers to make the story of two mice and an owl one of their favorite stories.

Two Mice and an Owl is a great addition to any child’s library collection. This children’s book blends the story and pictures that encourage children read all by themselves.

This is a great way to introduce the children to philosophical questions of what is it like to move to live in a new place, and what is it like to be an immigrant?

I chose this book to read to my 6yr old - but my 3yr old loved listening to it. He still talks about it months later as a way he learnt about the relationship between mice & owls. Beautifully written in an uncomplicated way.
