2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for us.
I like the design, but the mice couldn't figure out how to get into the trap. The fact that they have to push a door open to enter it seems to stop them from entering.

We live out in the country, and the mice are starting to come inside now to stay warm as the weather gets cooler outside. We were given some of these traps to use, and are so grateful to have them! In just the three days since we put these out, we have caught seven different mice, the last five of which were caught without even putting any bait in the traps! We just put the traps where we have seen the mice and they got caught while exploring.

We have a small child, and knew that we didn't want to put out poison, glue traps, or the spring-loaded traps, so these have provided us a very effective means for trapping mice while not putting our daughter in jeopardy.

The only concern about these is that it is hard to clean them out well after the mice leave droppings in them, but we are just rinsing them out well with the garden hose before bringing them back into the house, and then wiping down the outside surfaces with disinfectant wipes. Our daughter is constantly supervised, so that should do the trick for us, to prevent her from getting access to any germs the mice leave behind.

I would definitely recommend these traps to anybody with a mouse problem, especially to those with small children or pets who could be harmed by some of the more traditional methods of handling the problem. And the fact that these traps are no-kill is, of course, a good thing too; just be sure to take the mice far enough away from the house before releasing them! In fact, we have had such luck with these traps that we will be getting more as soon as we can! These things are great!

I have caught MANY, MANY mice with these cubes - maybe over a hundred. I live in the woods and have at least 5 cubes out at a time.

The mice chew at the flap to try to get out, which may wake you up in the middle of the night to check the traps - click click click! - I see this as a benefit, but some people might be annoyed by the noise. Just something to think about.

I always put a moist piece of (clean!!) sponge in the trap so the mouse can hydrate itself if he gets caught while you're away. He'll also fog up the inside of the trap with his breathing, so don't be too alarmed.

Easy to clean if a mouse soils the trap (which they will). Just soak and blast with hot water. Have several handy so you can wait for the washed ones to dry thoroughly.

I highly recommend these traps for you and your family, and for the pesky little mousies in your life. :)

For the life of me, I don't know why anyone would kill another living thing---even a small mouse! These traps are perfect for catching the little guy without killing it. You just place some delicious, enticing treat inside and wait. Don't worry. He'll fall for it. I have had tremendous success with these little traps. When you have caught the mouse, you just open the lid outside and he will scurry away. You will have a new appreciation for yourself because you didn't have to senselessly kill another living creature. I would recommend these traps to anyone who has a HEART!! Would you like to be squished in half while eating your favorite snack?! COME ON PEOPLE!!

thanks for reading. this is just my opinion. ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Mouse Catcher, December 11, 2008

WOW!! First night: 4 traps = 4 mice Fantastic!!!

Other nights have yielded similar results.

I've tried other 2 other types of humane traps and caught nothing.

Simple and effective. Put peanut butter on a bit of cracker, put it in the back of the trap, leave the trap overnight in a quiet, dark area and voila! You get your mouse!

Hate to agree with the marketing slogan, but this is the only moustrap I'll ever use!

Don't know why another reviewer here didn't catch anything, but these traps have been a huge help in ridding the house of mice and honoring my desire to do it without killing them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked Like A Charm!, December 2, 2008
This review is from: Mice Cube 3-pk Humane Mouse Trap - The Only Mousetrap You'll Ever Use (Kitchen)
I couldn't bear the thought of having to deal with a squashed mouse in a trap, and I didn't want to risk my kindergartner finding the trap & touching it. So I went with the Mice Cube.

Our home is over 5,000 square feet and we were finding droppings in a few concentrated areas. It took only TWO nights for us to trap our first little gray field mouse!

We followed the recommendation of the manufacturer: put peanutbutter on a piece of cracker and push it to the back of the trap. Smear a little peanut butter on the trap door exterior to draw the mouse to the trap with the scent.

The entire door was licked clean, and the mouse had a snack before I set it free FAR away from our home in the field. There was the issue of poop to clean up, but I just soaked it in hot water & dish soap for a bit and it all rinsed away.

We found ours for under two dollars each at our big box store, so I felt it was an affordable, reuseable product. I would absolutely recommend this product as a method of trapping a mouse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Put a little cheese in it, April 12, 2008

. . . and it just works. You may ignore any reviewers who say otherwise.

I have a small yard with a vegetable garden, and every time the mice return to ruin my tomatoes, I set out the Mice Cube with a bit of cheese inside. A few hours later, my culprit is busted. Or culprits -- once I caught two mice in the same cube at the same time.

Then I set him/her/them free beside the parking lot once I arrive at the office.

I'll make this review quick and to-the-point .. just like this product performed. Had a mouse in my house ... I bought this product ... stuck it where I found the droppings, and overnight we caught our little gray pooping friend. The release was relatively easy .. and I think I just threw the trap away because I was so grossed out by all the bodily fluids and moisture left behind by the critter, I didnt want to wash it in the same sink where I do my dishes or where the children wash. End of story. It works. It works well. Quickly and relatively mess-free.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seems to work, but our mice are escape artists, October 17, 2010

I set down our trap for the first time last night. In the middle of the night I heard a clattering and guessed that a mouse had got caught in the trap. I checked in the morning and found the trap turned over with the bait gone and it was full of mouse droppings. I guess the mouse had tried so violently to escape that it turned over the trap and escaped. I'm going to try again, but put a weight on top to see if that works. I really hope I can make it work as I don't want to kill the mice.

UPDATE: So I put the trap back and taped it to the wall and floor so it couldn't be moved. Somehow the mouse still managed to escape. It seems I am just feeding the mice. I will investigate other humane mouse traps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Humane and Effective, August 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mice Cube 3-pk Humane Mouse Trap - The Only Mousetrap You'll Ever Use (Kitchen)
The mouse trap is highly efficient which is it's paremont feature. Being transparent is a secondary plus.
A unintended feature is that once a mouse is trapped it noisily scratches and knows trying to escape. The plus feature is that the noise notifies you that you have a captive mouse. The negative feature of the noise is apparent if you are trying to sleep.
A negative aspect is that a trapped mouse gives off body moisture which condenses on the inside which combined with the bait and mouse droppings make for unpleasant cleaning task. ( After releasing outside I use the full force of my garden hose to wash and then let the sun dry. I haven't come up with a practical solution for cleaning in the winter when there isn't any garden hose for cleaning. Some of the stuff wants to stick to the inside.)
The second negative feature is that the mice will gnaw holes either at the flapper or the adjacent area.
I repair mine by using the aluminum from a pop can for patch material and secure with contact cement.
Overall this is a hands up product.
